KWick_70MC
Can the canadian connections order them for us down in "can't see what's behind me land" and then we pick them up at a show? If they are available anymore..
LostnFound
LOL...I have a nice set for sale but I'm not sure what they are off so the passenger side one may need the base or gasket altered.
Paul Bell
Nope. Novas still mount at an angle closer to vertical than horizontal. Dan OK. I defer to your experience. Now I'm wondering where I got the mirror from and what it came on. I guess I gotta dig it out...
Canuck
For my Canadian built 71 SS454, I have the same documentation from GM Canada as Vaughn posted showing the D35 LT REMOTE RT MANUAL CONTROL - CUSTOM SPORT yet my car only has the driver's side sport mirror. It does not appear that the passenger door ever had a mirror mounted on it but the holes could have been filled or the door could have been replaced over the past 40+ years. LostnFound
The documentation for my Canadian built 71SS reads.... D35 MIRRORS: LT REMOTE & RT MANUAL CONTROL - CUSTOM SPORT Also in the documentation there's a paragraph at the end detailing what the Z20 option included and the mirror portion reads..."remote control outside sport mirror" However, what contradicts the documentation is that one of the earliest photographs of my car taken in the early 70's shows a black driver's side bullet mirror (still on the car to this day) and no passenger mirror. Another photo shows bullet mirrors on both sides. Either it didn't come with a passenger side mirror and one was added or the passenger side mirror was damaged and replaced. I was only 7 years old when my late Uncle purchased the car and although I remember many things about the car, the story behind the mirror isn't one of them. Both mirrors visible in this 70's photo as well as a damaged grill... Another 70's photo without the passenger mirror taken in front of the house where I grew up... Jerry Skidmore
The 71-72 Monte/ Chevelle mirror pedestal casting # is 32155. The housing is #32153. The base gasket for Monte is 9872030 and base gasket for Chevelle is 9872029. The Nova and it’s counterparts (pontiac Ventura etc.) has a pedestal with casting #32485. It has more of a angle than the Monte/Chevelle pedestal, but not as much angle as the pedestal for the 70-81 Camaro. Also the remote cable is about 4” longer on the Monte/Chevelle than the Nova and the Nova pedestal can be easily identified by a X on the backside of mounting screw hole for the driver and a O for the passenger side. The pedestal for the Nova is straight where the mounting screw hole is, and curved on the Monte/Chevelle.
