Canuck
Very neat indeed. So, if these cars came standard with front disc brakes, how did some end up with all drums? It was possible to delete that option. Our cars also came with an AM radio as standard equipment but it was possible to delete the option and get a credit. Paul Bell
I see. It sure was the wild west of automobiles back then, eh? "I'll take my SS with drum front brakes. And the LS6 with them L89 aluminum heads, please. Where do i sign?"
KLASSIK1
actually the customer was much more involved and had many more choices , i prefer the wild west over what we have today buy what we build or worse yet buy what we tell you to buy and eat what we tell you to eat auto mentality just try to buy a real work truck today back in the 7dz you had much more choice right or wrong Leo
Leghome
Very true Leo. I tried to buy a new truck 5 years ago with only the options I wanted and the salesman looked at my like I was nuttier than I already is. Needless to say I never went back to that dealership Although 2 years ago I bought a truck off the lot of my local GMC dealer only because they offered me good bucks for my 94 P/U and it had $8,000 worth of rebates. Paul Bell
All this discussion about guys claiming 4 speed SS cars made me think of those guys with "450 HP" decals on their 1965 396 Corvettes.
Jared Richey
I'm gonna put 396 on the air cleaner of my 72 U-code when its done.
