  1. I installed a wet of ViKing Warrior double adjustable coil overs on my car. Almost happy with the ride height then I can start toying with the adjustable compression and rebound settings. As of now they are set at the lower level of the handling settings, and it’s a very noticeable difference. can’t wait to really lay into it and see! more than happy with the stance as of now. I did come up about 1” from these pictures

  4. I had one young engineer tell me that " she had the degree", meaning she knew more than those of us that had been around a long time. Told her I had more time on the toilet than she's been in industry, let alone the planet, lol. Said I could use that degree to wipe myself. That, plus I called the trailer they were all in a 'daycare center for engineers'. The superintendent of maintenance wasn't too amused with my answers 🤣. Problem was, the stuff she was trying to do would have literally resulted in an explosion.

  5. I’m convinced that automotive engineers all live in houses without numbers & have unlisted phone numbers. 😡

  6. My 70 has one of these like MC1of80 described. Maybe replace or install one if you don’t got. it is vacuum controlled so your cabin air conditioning controller would have to have that line / function. Again, MC covered that. just thought you might need a picture

  7. Just a question. Forgive my stupidity. Lol. If the heat issue is prevalent to the 72’s than why can’t a 70 or 71 style heat valve be installed?

  8. My '72 makes cold air coming from all the vents. When I had everything apart, I double checked to make sure all the actuators and blend doors worked and had full range of motion. I also replaced any foam seals I could with one of the rebuild kits out there. Wasn't the greatest kit and no instructions where the various seals went, but it seems good. Maybe it's possible it could be even colder if I pinched the heater hose off, but when I charged the system up, the measured temperatures coming out of the vents were really good. So, I think it's possible for a 72 to work good, but maybe I just got lucky that everything lined up properly?

  9. IDK why, but each year first gen has differences in the way the a/c works. The 70s and 71s have a heat control valve. The 70 is on the passenger fender well and the 71 has it in the intake manifold near the water pump. Both styles are in the heater hose going to the heater core to stop the flow of hot water. The 72 has no such valve. Other owners with a/c equipped 72s have also complained about the issue you have described.

  10. On my 72 we had to put a shut off valve in the heater hose in order for the AC to cool properly

  14. Getting them both ready for Carlisle. Also added an inline shutoff valve on the 5/8” heater hose off the manifold to eliminate heated air entering the cabin in the 72.

  16. Hi all, haven't been around in a while but we've made some big strides with our Monte. She's almost ready to be assembled (suspension, brakes, frame, rear end etc all restored, shiny & ready to roll!). However, we got rid of all the old bolts that hold the control arms on. I want everything to be shiny and new. I went through the owners manual looking for what bolts to buy as a replacement. Of course we can measure them all and order individually, but I was wondering if there was a reference guide out there with all of the bolt sizes? I wasn't able to find anything! Thanks for the help, she'll probably be ready to roll by fall at this rate, but I don't want to get my hopes up too high just yet, still lots of body work to be done! Photo of my blasted and painted Control Arm for tax 🥰

  17. Both new inner fenders are in. The inner fenders take a little work to get them in and the holes lined up. There’s only 3 holes in each that I had to elongate to fit. I got new bolts and cage nuts at the local parts store too. They fit great and look factory. I’m still waiting for the A-arm shields and staples to arrive which need to be stapled to the inner fender.
