  1. These are pretty good seats. https://www.summitracing.com/oh/parts/bst-39451-01 But my choice would be to find a set of originals. Steve
  2. You say the the vent line is still "open"...Are you sure? Can you blow air through it? Typically a clogged vent would be your problem here. If the tank is already collapsed I would think you'd want to replace that. The seams maybe weakened at this point. Once, I had a screw fall into the vent line that I was unaware of...easy enough to find but as you know it can create a lot of really bad issues. Steve

    Looks fantastic!!! Great work!!! Steve
  4. Hey Kenny...Welcome back to the forum! As you know, I still follow you on Instagram..... Kenny post a lot of beautiful pics!! Steve
  5. I have the replacement LED's in my dash...they look great! But can't remember if they are dimmable or not. I got them off Amazon a long time ago. If I remember I'll check them tonight. Steve
  6. The tunnels are the same for all Montes. It's the part that attaches to the rad supports that are different. The reproduction big block fan shroud for a Chevelle is the same as our big block Montes. You can buy the staples separate and attach your tunnel to it. Just to know..... Steve

Very nice work!! Looks great!!! Steve
  8. That was crazy cool!!! Thanks for sharing..... It's nice to see that in 2018 this is still a popular attraction! Steve
  9. I can see your speedometer being off but the tach is based off the engine rpms. It's a one wire to the distributor as well...... And this is the factory tach too. Many timing lights have a tach option in them (I know my Snap-On does), do you know anyone with one of those? Or you could hook up a temporary aftermarket tach, it's only a couple of wires. I realize this doesn't really answer your question but they are suggestions to help you verify what you have. I find the factory gauges to be sort of useless. I have the factory tach but also have a hidden shift light that has a tach built in from MSD. It's what I depend on to shift when racing. Steve
  10. Wow...some great pic's!!! Looks like a really great show with a lot to do!!!!! Thanks for sharing!!! Steve
  11. My vote is the Metro stuff...especially for the roof rail seal. It has the correct corners for the front windows. The soft seal stuff is good but I think it's more of a mass produced product than attention to detail. Steve
  12. Yes... I liked it but everyone kept saying it was the wrong wheel even though it was an option..... this is obviously and aftermarket....lol. I'm saving the other wheel in case I need to change again. Steve
  13. Here's what I did last night....... I was bored with the old steering wheel..... Steve
  14. Love the 4 speed in the Monte....Sweet ride, Enjoy!!! Steve
  15. I also have the Hooker Super Comps.... the primary tubes are 2" with a 3.5" collector. The right side drops right in (my Monte is a factory no AC 454 car but I don't see anyone having a problem with AC) and the left side for the most part can go right in but.... I had to lift the steering box out of the way to move the steering shaft out of the way to get it in. Now maybe not necessary but the proportioning block was really close to the header so I made a bracket to lift it up and over the frame ( the brake lines reach without modification and this modification was mentioned in the instructions) and I did very slightly dimple one of the pipes to make clearance for the steering shaft. Not a difficult install but I've installed some headers that needed to be beat to a pulp in order to get them in. My 2 cents, Steve
  16. I hope with all that power you are not running the factory crossmember! The one that's held in at the frame in rubber cups. Your getting a lot of movement if you are and that's certainly going to create a lot of premature wear. You need to go with a solid mount crossmember form a Chevelle. It's an easy bolt in operation and they are easy enough to find because the are being reproduced. Steve
  17. Your floor shift automatic had all this at the floor shifter. If I remember correctly, you have to unplug the floor shift harness at the main harness under the dash and get the switch for an automatic "on the column" which is mounted on the column itself. It's a relatively easy conversion....plug and play. Steve
  18. Your Monte is Awesome!!! Love it!!! Steve
  19. There are so many of those on Craigslist and so many that are so obvious....but I'm going to guess that it does work on some poor unsuspecting souls or they wouldn't continue to do it. Steve
  20. First...put the PVC back in, your only making it worse by not venting the engine. In fact it could be your whole problem. Make sure the pvc "rattles" and it maybe a good thing to just replace it now. Is this something new after driving with this set up for 10,000 miles? My first impression is that unless your engine has some work done to it a 650 carb maybe too much so you can start by reducing the jets to see what that gets you. Being that you have black smoke these are my first choices. After that you may need to do a leak down test to see if the valves and piston rings are ok but that would seem unlikely. Steve
  21. Those look great!!!! I had actually looked at those before I got my own (American Racing version). But I ended up getting a great deal on mine so that made my decision. Steve
