  1. I believe he is looking for the screw that secures the housing to the bumper. Those are the screws for the lens to the housing. Good to know they make those now. I believe they are just a Philips head short screw for the housing to the bumper.
  2. Okee dokey, as promised... The 3 that I purchased even though the top one is part of a 3 pen set. The bottom one is basically silver. The middle and top are very chromelike. I chose the top one because the tip was flatter than the middle one that has a rounded tip on one side and a fine tip on the other. I'm sure very good for detail work.
  3. Yes, the dash was chrome plated and then painted to match the interior before the wood trim was installed at the factory. The pens I purchased are over Kevin's. I will be there tomorrow and post a pic of the pen I liked with the others also.
  4. Chrome Dennis. I purchased 3 different "chrome" paint pens to choose the best one.
  5. Agreed Dennis. I probably forgot about that detail long ago. Thought it's one of those little things for those who want to be 100% accurate.
  6. Hello all. It's been a moment since I updated y'all. Been doing a lot of wiring. No pics cause it's kinda boring. Lolol. Running wires, hiding wires etc. I did change the inner structure of the glove box door due to the original starting to split and the door not sitting correctly. I checked "stock" and had one already off and ready to go. After a quick clean up I noticed it to be slightly different than the original 70. The 70 has 2 indentations for at the time, cans. The one used for a replacement does not have the indentations but a sticker on it. Under the sticker it is flat so the design changed obviously.
  7. Really nice job Dennis! Is that dark saddle?
  8. I know I have and continue to do stupid things that could of or should of ended up the same way. 😳
  9. The parts place, inline tube, ausleys all have them. This is from the parts place. This clip holds the cable to the shifter base and also one for the bracket on the transmission.
  10. I believe there is a 5/16ish hex head screw that goes through the circuit board into the metal housing.
  11. The ammeter is directly wired into the horn relay so the circuit board is not used. Sounds like a ground issue to the cluster/pod.

Big Red has a 496,.060 454 block, original 4 core radiator,7 blade fan with HD clutch and has no issues at all. Ask anyone that was at Carlisle this year. I drove it in traffic, highway, to town to eat, sat idling for a while and no issues.... Thank goodness. Lol
  13. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Thomas and I will be hosting Kevin and his family. Keeping the family tradition going now that Mom is not with us anymore. December will be 1 yr. Besides a 20 lb turkey we will be making, stuffing in the bird and stuffing without the bird, turkey gravy, garlic mashed potatoes, plain mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, corn, broccoli n cheese, cooked baby carrots, chicken cutlets (for those who don't like turkey), hot rolls and more. I'm full just writing this. Lolol Again, Happy Thanksgiving, enjoy family, friends, and freedom!

Also just learned it could be from a 360 or 390hp 454 70 Vette.

Willie, the 425hp 427 also has the large oil passage by the oil filter and would have the same bore as a 454 and 4 bolt mains BUT the casting date suggests it is probably an LS-6 block.
  16. Same as the lower one. Try the parts place.
  17. Welcome John, Joe will definitely help you out!
  18. If you are referring to the center long pieces, yes they are the same. Just flipped over for the upper.

Sounds like you have a grasp on what it is by the numbers you did find. A 512 block is a good block for a build.
  20. I would try some clear silicone or even better epoxy, used sparingly.
  21. Way better! Great job Joe!
  22. Do you mean the spring, washer and nylon cup that is on the back drive by the frame? If so, that is available from the aftermarket. I know inline tube and the parts place have the kits. I'm sure Ausleys and Ground up do also.
  23. The shaft itself, no. A thin coat of transmission fluid or white grease on the hub of the converter where it rides on the seal wouldn't hurt. The only time you could coat the shaft is if it's a lockup style trans with an o-ring on the top of the shaft. And yes, th350 could have a lock up converter . A th200 also even though they are not 4speed automatic like a 200r4 or 700r4. Usually the early 80's th350s and th200s can be lock up. Usually identified by a 4 prong connector on the driver's side.
