  1. No. That will do nicely and if you change anything in the future, you won't have to purchase another radiator.
  2. There is a "custom" data base in the SS454 section. In your Vin there should be a W in it. That showed that a 454 was ordered in your car. A U would be a 402. As far as custom standard pieces there are the wide belt mouldings , f41 suspension, special steering wheel, turbine wheel covers with 15x7 steel rims if not ordered with rally wheels. Sport driver's mirror and "custom" emblems next to the Monte Carlo emblem on the sail panel. I may have missed one or 2 items. On your build sheet it should list the custom option Z03 for "custom" equipment. Hope this helps.
  3. Hey Jeff! Welcome to the club. Awaiting pics of your Monte. You stated you wanted deeper looking rims. Do you want a normal ride height or an old school jacked up look?
  4. Hey Luc, Not sure in the radiator sizing but the people who removed their mechanical fans from the engine are still using fans. Electric fan/s mounted to the radiator. The same radiator is used whether you use a mechanical fan or electric fan.
  5. That would be a good start. If nothing else,it will handle much better. 😁
  6. I know the Oldsmobile parts places have the seals our cars use. They are for the coupe. NOT fastback roofline. 70-72 Cutlass.
  7. Short answer? Yes. Lol
  8. I purchased one from Ausleys Chevelle parts. Same one. What you have to do is take apart the mirror, center screw. Then on the mirror housing, not the base you will see the shoulder that indexes into the base. You need to slightly trim them. So it let's the mirror sit as it is supposed to. I did it to both of the mirrors on my 70. The drivers and passenger side. The bottom pic is before I trimmed and reinstalled the driver's mirror. 2nd pic.
  9. First you need to access the suspension you have. Sway bar, New bushings, Boxed upper and lower control arms, new shocks if yours are old, if car is high in the butt, lower it, no hop bars and slapper bars. And what works best.... More power! Lol if the tire just melts it can't hop. Lol My son's 69 GTO convertible that we just installed an m-22 in is experiencing wheel hop also. Only his has boxed control arms and sway bar (Hotchkiss) and new shocks. We will be installing slapper bars (that we have in stock) onto it shortly.

Some FYI. Did you know from about the late 60s on up the big block Chevy head (stock) can accept both style of spark plugs. The 13/16 with the metal gasket and the more common 5/8 tapered seat plug. Just look at the spark plugs seat to make sure.
  11. Where you have the tape is where the washer and nylon bushing go. To the bracket on the chassis.
  12. Yes. That is the lower part, to the transmission back drive. It goes from the transmission selector bracket to the chassis. The spring is in the correct location. There should be a thin washer and a nylon bushing on the chassis side. The nylon bushing goes into the bracket bolted to the chassis.
  13. Have been trying to get him to join the club! You talk to him. Lolol Yes, he is 23. Lol knows everything.
  14. Happy Easter everyone! Many of you may recognize the 71 Monte Carlo that my son purchased as being one that my brother 714024speed had. Well now we decided with the self isolation to work on it. Mind you, this was a running and driving car with a target master 350 engine and Jasper th350 engine. Bother of which have less than 1500 miles on them. It now is going to have a 355 with a roller cam, th400, and 2 1/2 in dual exhaust that "WE" have in stock that was originally slated to be put into this Monte eventually. Well, here's eventually... Lol
  15. Hey Chris! Welcome to the club! We have quite a few members in LI and the surrounding area. We love pics here. Hint, hint. Lol
  16. With the starter in it will be a PIA again. That's why I removed the a/c box and installed a box that let me access the plugs and still have heat. Most of my a/c parts were missing to begin with.
  17. Lol. How do you think most of us learned? 😁
  18. Hey, The trick/conversion joint part number is 372 made by Moog. A lift!?! How nice! Lolol Either lower the car onto jackstands under the axle tubes or if you have access to pole jacks or a trans jack lift the rear to it's ride height position and try the driveshaft. Alot of times the rear hangs too far down shortening the distance between the trans and rear.
  19. Hey, Silly question, is the car in the air with the rear hanging? Or are the stands under the rear end and the car is the ride height as if it was on the ground? Also, in case you didn't know, to install the 10 bolt rear driveshaft into the 12 bolt, you need a conversion u joint/trick joint.
  20. Welcome Janine! Beautiful 70 you have!
  21. Wow! That's great! I'm glad the members and the club were able to help find it! Spectacular job to everyone involved!!! Rob, where's the pic? Lolololol 🤔😁
  22. Rumor has it that OPGI lists 3 hoods and fenders that just came out for our cars.
  23. If you didn't try this yet..... Heat up the spindle near the ball joint. Hit repeatedly with a BFH!!! Usually does the job. Up here in the north east we get alot of parts that wind up together that shouldn't be. Lolol. Good luck! 👍
