  1. I bought a 18’ open bow with a 5.0 inboard/outbound new in 1998 (GM powered of course). I was single at the time and my buddies and I were on it every weekend, and some week nights after work. I got married in 2015 and we still used it some, but my wife and step daughter didn’t enjoy time on the lake as much as I did. I made the decision to sell it in 2018 and haven’t missed it as much as I thought I would, but for me it really wasn’t a happy day when it sold. It was fun for 20 years and I definitely got my money’s worth out of it. I guess the best part is it made room in the garage for another Monte Carlo! Now at 13 years old, my step-daughter is saying she misses it and we need to get another boat!
  2. I haven’t seen the show, so I can’t say. However, I see Montes in my dreams pretty regularly!
  3. I agree! Looks awesome! The center caps are a nice touch 👍
  4. What a great way to spend the day. A lot of those need to be saved. 🚗
  5. Amazing that two extra doors change it from gorgeous to ugly.
  6. Welcome to the madness!
  7. Welcome! Looking forward to following your progress. Keep the pictures coming!
  8. Awesome pictures! I love the beautiful Montes!!
  9. My 70 was built in March of 1970 in Flint, MI. It doesn’t have the chrome under the headlights, but I wish it did. I personally like the look.
  10. I’m sure it seems like it’s moving slow, but you’ve accomplished a lot! I have thoroughly enjoyed following your progress. Thanks for sharing!
  11. Welcome Phillip! I’m about 30 minutes from you in Raleigh. I think we may have communicated on Facebook recently, but I can’t find the post now. We’ll have to meet up at a local cruise in or car show. Here’s one coming up next weekend.
  12. Very impressive! Thanks for putting so much time in this!
  13. That looks familiar. My dad had a 56 bug in the early 70’s. He owned a Texaco gas station back then, and on a slow Saturday afternoon I would drive it around the parking lot. I’m guessing I was 12 or 13 at the time. Fond memories!
  14. Thanks for all the replies. You guys confirmed what I have been thinking all along. I’m going to pull the wheels, check the backspacing and go from there. 😊
  15. Nice! I really like the factory appearance of the gages.
  16. I’m about to pull the trigger on a set of those myself. I’m trying to decide what size to go with on 8” Rallies. The previous owner put 235/60R15 on the front and 255/60R15 on the rear. I like the way they look, but the front will rub occasionally when turning and going over a small bump. There’s also signs that the driver’s side rear has previously rubbed the wheel well lip at some point. Any suggestions?
