I took a chrome one off of my 72 because we could not get it to stop leaking
  2. Just heard from a local transmission guy who is very good, that is all he does rebuild trannys for a living. He is coming over to pick up the car the first of next week and he said it should be in the neighbor of $850 which I was overjoyed to hear
  3. My 700r4 took a dump this past week. Summit Racing $2,599 for a rebuilt one, no core charge, one year warranty if you put in a new torque converter. They have another tranny for $2,199 with a $350 core charge but with return shipping I am leaning toward the more expensive because they have it in stock and they do not know on the wait time for the other one and it only has a 90 day warranty.

I used the passenger side port for the Holley Sniper EFI
  5. That is not impossible for sure I have just never heard of that before. When I worked for Delco Remy of General Motors we did have marking mechanisms on our machines to show which ones had made the part, that way they could trace said part especially if it was defective
  6. I never knew there were color stripes on a drive sahft
  7. I used to belong the the AARP but politically they are very wrong for my family. Their mail goes directly to file Z when it arrives. There is a conservative group similar to them that I do belong to and I am getting more useful benefits for us
  8. I have had mine out to the golf course twice in the last month. Car ran great and the golfing was pretty good for this OLD hacker

  10. here are some photos of the trailer hitch a good friend made for our 72, only drilled two holes as one hole was already present on each side
  11. Started to join the Air Force in 1967, got my preinduction notice from the draft board. Went and took the physical and flunked the preinduction physical so the Air Force did not want me either
  12. My brother was an air force plane maintenance guy. Stationed at Lakenheath or something like that and one of the planes that he was the repair crew on is in Dayton OH at the Museum. He also was based in the States at Myrtle Beach SC
  13. When my 16 yr old grandson was 5 or 6 he liked the chocolate MM's car as he called it.
  14. I used the washer method Mr Tretter mentioned earlier and it worked great. Screw driver to pry the spring apart slightly slide in washer and insert it a little farther with a pair of channel locks. On new springs put them in a vise and just bent them over inserting washers as I went on one side and bent it the other way and repeated. About halfway down a lot of the washer fell out and the others came out easily.
  15. I ordered a 400SB September 20,1969 and it came from the Van Nays plant because the Flint plant went on strike right after my order was placed
  16. I have the custom window felts on my 72 and they worked fine I did have to do some minor tweaking but was fine other wise. The weather stripping I cannot answer about and probably the felt answer does not fit your needs. I have had very few problems with anything I have ever purchased from them
  17. I replaced mine and got the hoses at ThePartsPlace.com
  18. Van Nuys was also one of the first plants. That is where my 70 that I ordered 9/20/1969 came from after the Flint plant went on strike
  19. I bought a new Nova in 68 and it had the SMOG pump and tubes My Monte I bought in Sept of 69 came from the Van Nuys plant without that stuff.. Nova High performance 327(325 Horse) the Monte 265 horse SB 400
  20. My 70 I ordered in September of 69 came with 15 X 7 steel weeks because I ordered G70 sized tires
  21. I ordered my new 70 on September 20th, 1969. The Flint plant went on Strike shortly there after so It ended up taking 10 weeks for it to arrive in Indiana after being built in Van Nuys I do not know how long it took to transport across country but I am guessing about 2 weeks. That puts my build date around The middle of November 1969. I did not know about build sheets and could not get the window sticker off in one piece and boy did I try to do that but a total failure
  22. Here is a Kindig handle on a Customized 72
