  2. hey bill, i also am sorry for your loss and hope your doing good, loaned another 70 402 powder blue skirt gem i had wheni was younger, bought it back 3 times after having to sell it because of not being able to afford it, loaned to a friend to get to work on a monday. that friday he got drunk and ran it into several trees and parked into a house. cr was destroyed. he was ok except for his two front teeth. good thing the car got them, cause i would have. never was the same between us. I still have the skirts and the complete 402 engine and trans. i'll locate a picture one of these days and try to post. I really loved that car. bought it in 79. doa in 95. lesson, never loan out your best girl.
  3. Hi All, Looking for a set of used side moldings and not at all cleaned up for my 70. I don't want it to clash with my old paint and other old trim. Also, the front valance I have is a little more hammered than I like but I don't want a brand new one. Maybe someone out there has a repository of old parts?? Thank you.
  4. Today
  5. 42 days and a wake-up is where we now sit in our countdown sits today. Is your Monte Ready To Roll? rob
  6. Roger, do you have a link to the video? rob
  7. on youtube i saw this article about 1970s car being assembled, very informative about the monte carlo
  8. Very true, at least not by the factory. Some may have heard of Tim Pestinger's '70 SS 454 with a genuine LS6 that was installed by Dick Harrell upon delivery. This Monte is just one of the unique muscle cars in Tim's collection in my home town of Salina, Kansas. It is NOT for sale (ask me how I know)!
  9. Any one spoken for the 72 trucks one?
  10. S.Maug

    ss registry?

i'm unbelievably proud of my 70 SS. would love to knowhow many true SS's are out there. But i'm a first gen fanatic. I know now i have found a family.
  11. PHOTOSHOPPED car put into picture to fool us into thinking it is really Dennis's ad
  12. O bet but I’m still on the short side. lol.
  13. I have more than that. Another 10 sets buried in the basement somewhere. lol.
  14. I thought since we all speak "Bow Tie" members would be interested in these dealership wallboards. I found these in a dissolved Chevrolet dealership that was in business from 1917 to 1973. These were common in GM showrooms from the 1950's through the 1980's. They are 4'X5' and are a great garage display. Recently discovered the 1970 Monte Carlo one that I have yet to frame. My buddy had first pick and got all of the good Corvette, Camaro and Chevelle one's of the 1960's. Cheers.
  15. Yesterday
  16. I see you have a taillight extension tree too. Wow
  17. With everyone gearing up for Carlisle thought I better add class info 🤣 https://www.autabuy.com/classifieds/98635420-1971-chevrolet-monte-carlo?_gl=1*160fydx*_ga*NjMxNDU5Mjk3LjE3MTEwNjM2MDY.*_ga_CTLB7WNYTH*MTcxNDk1MTY1MS41My4xLjE3MTQ5NTE2NTguMC4wLjA.
  18. These both have the same letters and tread pattern. The ones with the clean letters were on the front and heavily worn on the outer edge. I have some others with the older lettering on this same tread pattern and some on the old tread pattern too.
  19. Rob i also know its a real ad, the car and the plate were dead give aways!!! I just cant get over the fact Dennis is selling anything!!!! He must of had a bet with Karen and he came up on the short side?!?! LOL
  20. ALERT!!! ALERT!!! ALERT!!! It looks as though someone has hi-jacked to the screen of Dennis T. Everyone here knows if you don't see the toes of a pair of slippers or shoes in a picture it wasn't taken by Dennis. Just kidding it's a legit ad. rob
  21. Aaron.... If you also notice, the tread patterns are different too. Montelishi's spare was of the earlier pattern and the lettering was much better then the ones on the road. Sadly, it had a huge split in it, and when I took the wheel in to get the Tigerpaws mounted, the guys showed me that the wheel was bent beyond repair as well. I mounted one of the old BFG tires on a spare rim (for the trunk), and found that Vasoline did a pretty good job of brightening the lettering... At least better than some of the cleaners I'd tried.
  22. hello nosz20 i have been looking for 2 sets of bumper guards for my 2 70 monte carlo's, i would like nos and something reasonable. not something that would need rechromed. just checking availability and price first. wife say's my budget is pretty much maxxd out. i'm a new member and am enjoying working with my fellow club members. sure my 2 girls could use other parts but need to watch my spending as my cancer treatment is hard on the budget. as one can only imagine. but i would really like to finish these 2 cars to the best perfection i can afford so i don't leave my family with the term "projects". ha ha. thank you for your time and look forward to hearing from you at your convenience.
  23. I had a brain fart Rob, I forgot yours was a 70.
