  1. Richard, can you be a little more detailed? Is the fluid where the rear end is? Transmission? Engine? What color is it? Does it only happen when the car has sat for a few days?
  2. Welcome Kevin! Love big block, 4 speed Monte Carlos!
  3. With the intake off, look down the intake ports at the valve and stem. If the seals/guides are leaking you should see signs.
  4. Sorry for the loss of your grandfather. We all know how life comes first as well as the loved ones still with us. Congratulations on your marriage and house purchase. Do not hesitate to ask questions, vent or whatever else you may need. There are a lot of helpful people here. We are here for you or whoever needs us.
  5. We have always had good success with headman headers for a small block. That is what we used on our "Covid" Monte. Although upon closer inspection these may be hooker. Either way you can use a standard length sparkplug with both. Maybe Kevin will see this (Owner of the "Covid" Monte presently) and clarify what make they are.
  6. Super agree. The bushings are going to move now.
  7. Very interesting indeed!
  8. You definitely got your money's worth out of the first one. I hope you get that and more from the replacement.
  9. Why Dennis? Don't you like the 70 grille on a 71? 😂
  10. What's with the Chevelle style vinyl top and incorrect mouldings. 🤔
  11. I believe the smaller buckles are for the shoulder/roof straps to make an early type of 3pt system. I believe they were also called highway belts.

    Hello

Welcome Jim! I can't add to what the others have said because it's all true!
  13. Put the new bushings in the freezer. They will shrink slightly and make installation a little easier.
  14. I always removed the bushings on the rear with a BFH. (Big F@#$&;g Hammer) they also make puller/ installers for the bushings. As far a s a bent bracket, ? How do you have the car supported? I usually have jack stands under the frame, near the forward position of the rear lower control arm. Then use a floor jack to hold the rear/ move the rear as needed.
  15. Just like the pumps I pumped gas out of when I was 15 working at the local gas station. Memories....
  16. Wait, what?! We have a swim team?! 😂🤣😂🤣
  17. Will you be watching Mark? 🤣😂🤣😂. Sorry, couldn't resist.
  18. Park it, disconnect the battery, hook up the trickle charger and cover it. That's my method.
  19. All our th400s use the old tried and true type F. 8 of them. Ask your transmission rebuilder what they recommend.

    Funny

19 cents! Wow! Lolol. I started driving in 1986. Gas here in NY was just under a buck then.
  21. Getting there Aaron! Looks great!
  22. You can make a column shift tilt into a console/4speed column. The lower bowl is now sold new. This was a column shifted tilt that I converted to console/4speed tilt.
