Hey,
The trick/conversion joint part number is 372 made by Moog.
A lift!?! How nice! Lolol Either lower the car onto jackstands under the axle tubes or if you have access to pole jacks or a trans jack lift the rear to it's ride height position and try the driveshaft.
Alot of times the rear hangs too far down shortening the distance between the trans and rear.
Hey,
Silly question, is the car in the air with the rear hanging? Or are the stands under the rear end and the car is the ride height as if it was on the ground?
Also, in case you didn't know, to install the 10 bolt rear driveshaft into the 12 bolt, you need a conversion u joint/trick joint.
Wow! That's great! I'm glad the members and the club were able to help find it! Spectacular job to everyone involved!!!
Rob, where's the pic? Lolololol ๐ค๐
If you didn't try this yet..... Heat up the spindle near the ball joint. Hit repeatedly with a BFH!!! Usually does the job. Up here in the north east we get alot of parts that wind up together that shouldn't be. Lolol. Good luck! ๐
Hey Ronnie,
Thanks. I wanted a low maintenance finish and a stock look. All but the trained eye will notice the modifications.
The cam is an old school solid flat tappet Howards cam. 252/260@.050 618/640 on a 108 center line. 3000-6800 range.
My brother and I have been wanting to try this exact thing. Looks like that's all the factory did besides the locating dowl placement for the fender extensions.
We will be watching this closely.
Haven't heard of anyone trying it yet.
Good luck!
Hey Ronnie.
Small block or big block? Intended use of the car?
On my 496 in my 70 SS I use an Edelbrock rpm air gap intake.
Works great on the street and extremely well at the track.
Thank you Andy. All is well so far. Hope all is well with you also.
Glad I was able to assist you with your problem.
You will find alot of helpful and knowledgeable people on this site.
Please stay safe...
Tom
Nice shifter. You're welcome.
The cable is needed if you want passing gear. When your in 3rd gear and floor it, the cable makes the trans drop down a gear and away you go. Without it, you will have to manually downshift to get the same effect.
Unlike an overdrive auto transmission, the th350 cable not being connected will not burn up the trans.
Hey Andrew.
That is for the transmission kick down/passing gear. That end is supposed to be connected to the carburetor throttle linkage. You have a th350 transmission.
The large end is supposed to be locked into a bracket, usually bolted to the intake, driver's side next to the distributor.
Also noticed you most likely have a b&m aftermarket floor shifter. Lolol
Someone with a Chevelle wanted a sway bar and boxed control arms.
Have heard of many stories of guys swapping parts out on the lifts at gas stations back in the day.
Not saying that's what happened with your new toy. Just a possibility.
Good luck finding a build sheet! That would be cool!
Hmmmmmmm ๐ค lololol
The sway bar and boxed lower control arms could have been switched out young in it's life.
Any chance of a build sheet?
My 71 402 Monte, "barn find" has a 10 bolt in it now, that when you look at it you would swear it was factory installed. The boxed control arms and sway bar are still there. The former owner swore that the rear was never changed while his family had it. They purchased it used in 72. And she was off the road since 1985. Just saying, ya never know. Lol ๐ค
Hey Willie,
Driver's A pillar for the map light.
The other wires follow the slight channel on the driver's floorboard.
The wires run under the seat/rug approximately under the driver's butt. Lol. To the back seat.
Actually, go to the What did you do to your Monte today thread in this section and go to last page. There is a pic of the wire harness. Lol just saw it. ๐
Nice find!!! Looks to be mostly there. What are your plans for her?
Looks like things have been changed in her life. Holley carb adapter, what's left of the chrome valve covers and possible bucket seat change to mention a few.
By any chance is the air ride compressor there?
Again, nice find!!! ๐
I believe you are talking about the front fender fenderwells? I know The Parts Place has them as well as other Monte Carlo specific parts places.
I don't remember their specific name though. I think it's a "splash sheild". It's a plastic piece.
