  1. Scrolling thru the channel guide this morning and noticed the description about a clean Monte they're going to do some work on. Decided to DVR it, and just started watching it after getting home from the big, 1000+ car show at Olcott, NY today. Haven't watched it all yet, but looks like a really nice Red '72 Custom they're doing some work on. If anyone is interested, it'll be playing again tomorrow at 1130, on the Motor Trend channel.
  2. To me, a 'Restomod' would be something that looks like fairly original from the outside, but outfitted with more modern equipment such as EFI, maybe an LS motor (but not mandatory), 4 wheel disc brakes, electronic dash (like Dakota Digital), electronic controlled overdrive transmission, stereo/entertainment upgrades, etc. Just adding a hopped up small block Chevy engine & T-400 transmission, not so much. https://www.bbcamatx.com/classic-cars-what-is-the-difference-in-original-restored-and-resto-mod.html
  3. We saw it, just figured it was better than some of the stuff you've tried to slip thru in the past 🤣.
  4. And most of them end up saying "get the American Racing Headers", 😁. FWIW, I have them & they fit great, tuck up real nice and high.

Maybe you & Dennis can take your act on the road together 😁! Yeah, I was hoping the test would show something related, but now, who knows what's the deal. Good news is last night was the first night with no issues, so I must be fine now, lol.

Thanks Mark! Hot tub may not fix this... Possible kidney stones?, won't know 'til they do a CT in about 2 weeks (insurance approval needed first 😠)

Thanks Willie! Right now I'm down for the count, real bad back pain... Yeah, something like that, except the drain outside looks clear (1/2" PVC pipe). Hopefully it's just in the drip tray part of the inside unit (It's a mini-split system).

Thanks all! I worked out there today a couple of hours, that's enough for now 😄 The A/C in the shop started acting up this afternoon, spitting water out. Tomorrow I'll take it apart and see if the condensate drain is plugged. It's always something.

Thanks! Yeah, lot of stuff left to do, but I'm just happy it ran 😁

Got the Z running today real quick. Finished with the brake vacuum pump drama (first one failed ), had to make an access hole in the metal fenderwell, etc. Got the cooling system all hooked up, filled, quick double check & it fired right up. Had to add a couple of temporary exhaust pipes to the headers to keep the O2 sensors fully in the exhaust stream, was running real rich until then. Warmed up, went right into closed loop and idled down to 1100 rpm like it did with the carb. Not too bad for a startup tune. Ran the transmission thru the gears, all good there as well. There was a little concern the Centerforce clutch in there may have a problem with the new hydraulic clutch setup, but so far no issues. Now I can order some mufflers, try a couple different ones out & build the exhaust system. Long way to go, but at least it breathes again. 20220831_140449.mp4
  12. I texted him pics of the carpet on the 18th, never heard back.
  13. If that's the case, we'll order you up a plate that says "TRBLMKR'...
  14. My car took 45 ounces I think. That's with a replacement evap, cond., filter/drier, (Factory type replacement parts), and Sanden compressor.
  15. Welcome to the club Nick! You've found the best place on the internet for first gen Monte Carlos. We have a VIN tag decoding page here on the sight, look on the menus. This will take you to the resource page, with decoding, etc.: https://www.firstgenmc.com/forums/index.php?/resources/resourcespage/ A build sheet would go a long way towards determining if the 12 bolt came with the car. They are sometimes behind the rear seat, or on top of the gas tank, depending where the car was made. There is also a code stamped on the right side (passenger) of the axle tube, facing the front. Get that & we can de-code it as well. None of your pictures loaded either, but we've been having issues with that lately. EDIT: Let me play around a bit, see if I can get them working... OK, I at least got the links working, so we can see the pics.
  16. Me either, not even a little bit.
  17. Looks like the Holley site is down. I'll check it again later.
  18. I've been thru there, it was pretty cool to see both. It was after the sinkhole devoured the cars, and they had them out on display. I'd consider that. They have a track facility too.
  19. Any chance they're aftermarket, date coded replacement windows?
  20. Could possibly be a starter going bad, heat soaked. But, I'd check the free stuff like grounds, cables, tighten starter mounting bolts, etc., first though. If you could whack the starter with a small hammer when it happens, that may help narrow it down.
  21. I still have a few of those as well, and clamp on ammeters too. Some day when I get out of this Lazy-boy chair, maybe I'll ebay them...
  22. Monte mirrors would mount with a stamped steel plate on the door itself, then the mirror would hook on & be secured with a single machine type screw from the back side of the pedestal mount. The ones in the ad have the studs attached to the pedestal and would be different. Doesn't appear to have the passenger side plastic pad/mount either, which is sometimes difficult to find, I seem to recall.
