  1. I would have been a 16 year paid member had it not been for a confrontation with Andreas over a silly avatar of Danielle from American pickers. Seven years ago. Some of the powers that be just get bored I guess. Now I am listed as a newbie for some reason. Doesn't tickle me for when renewals are due. Read into that what you will.
  2. It is used to filter the air that gets pulled in by the PCV valve on the opposite valve cover.
  3. Looks like it will miss us by 100 or so miles. Just a ton of wind and rain.
  4. Wow! I got $9.55 in cash and my parking validated the last time I was selected. Turns out the drapery hangar response works if you need to get back to work. You know, "Personally, I think we should hang them all". In my defense, it was a murder trial.
  5. 1/2 inch pipe thread. Hose will be either 3/4 or 5/8, depending on the fitting.
  6. After 320,000 miles I traded in my Duramaxx on a new Power Wagon. Diesel always got 16 MPG +. The new MOPAR is showing 11.8 after 250 miles. Time to buy a siphon hose I guess.
  7. Dennis, sorry for your loss. They only bless us for a limited time. Lost my best friend awhile back and this guy went EVERYWHERE with us. On the Cruze, grab a valve cover from the dealer, and a coil and set of plugs. trust me on this one. It is what I do.
  8. I kinda like the " I actually drive my car" look you have.
  9. I hate to say it, but I have been chukking those things in the trash for 35 years.
  10. Monroe Sensatracs work really well. For about a month.
  11. The car ran 12.40s when the 400 started slipping. The fastest way to get it back on the road was a TCI 350 that a local speed shop that had one in the box. It ran 12.0s and still does. With working a/c, power windows, and two twelves on the trunk. When it breaks I'll put the 400 I built ten years ago back in.
  12. This ratcheer! My TCI TH350 has been my 496 since 2006. And I am rarely nice to the car. Add to that dyno time and at least 500 trips down the 1/4 mile.
  13. My 71 might get a 6.2 L86 blower motor. It made 681 RWHP in my 18 High Country and the current 496 makes 472. Could be fun. But I have many kids to feed. My Buick needs paint and my 70 Chevelle needs a frame swap. My 71 Longhorn needs everything. My 81 Bu needs a convertor. I put CrazeyDaveys old 4500 Coan convertor behind the 632 and she is abit loose.
  14. Very cool build. Reminds me alot of my 71 speed wise with the exception on my 3.73s and a 4500 stall. my bullitt is a 9.8:1 496bb with iron Merlin heads. Even still run a TCI Th350 thats been in it for 12 years. I just sold Red Rocket, my 18 High Country that has a LT4 blown 6.2 in it. Got traded in with an L83 5.3 and I k ept all the good stuff. Now the decision. Does my wifes 20 Denali 6.2 get the blower motor or is it time to LT swap the 71.
  15. I did two years ago. Bought a 19 Ultra Limited, a 93 Heritage, and last year I bought a 2020 VMAXX. Put a ton of miles on the 93 and everything else sat. But I did manage to get my 70 GS455 vert running. Sold the Ultra, the wifes Ryker and Rebel (she never rode), and the VMAXX scared me so bad on the ride home that it sits in my warehouse with no fuel in it and 16.7 miles. This winter I am trading my 85 hardtail/springer chopper for a full pain job on the Buick.
  16. What I have done to every car I have ever restored was a perfect wet sanded, cut an buffed full paint job. I also sign the roof with a Sharpie before installing. Side note, on my 39k mile 67 GTX, I took it to Ocala two years ago and got to hang out with Don Garlits, a very very MOPAR man. I mentioned to him that I wanted to put a hat on it and he threatened to beat my arse because it wasn't on the trim tag. Those that know me know that I'm a big dude. Mikey Waltrip here is 6'3". Needless to say, my GTX has a painted roof still.
  17. I have always been of the opinion that First Gens do not look right withiout their hats on. That top you listed is what I put on my 71 . My 81 632 Malibu lost its landau somewhere in the mid 90s/ I still have the trim but that car just looked dumb with it on. My 70 454 Chevelle didnt come with one, so I added it.
  18. Pull the valve covers and fire it up. First thing that comes to mind is a wiped lobe or two.
  19. I would have to hold off for now.
  20. The coolest thing about an LS swap is money recovery. You can get more $ out of that pan, dipstick, pickup, and windage tray than you paid for that Holley. It is required for a first gen Nova swap. Pretty sure the only GM LS swap that there is no aftermarket pan for.
  21. You're going to have to just get the tank as far back as you can so the filler neck clears the frame. The take it down filler neck first.
  22. I'm reading 45-55 depending on which bolts you have. The 7/16 bolts are flywheel to crank. Your nut and bolts are 3/8 fine thread.
