  1. Dennis, Did you make the kids banana splits for dessert ?
  2. Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Monte family. Be safe and enjoy !!!
  3. Welcome John and thank you for becoming a dues paying member. You have come to the right place and hope you like what you see on this Club website. Plenty of awesome people and great info here. We hope you will join us at one of our Club events. A excellent way to see First Generation Montes and meet some of the people you may see online and meet other fellow Club members. Good luck with the hunt for your Monte and enjoy the First Generation Monte Carlo Club !!!
  4. I have the optional sport steering wheel on my 1970 SS. It is approximately 15 inches.
  5. Occasionally you will see them on EBay. They are not being reproduced. Make sure there are 2 lenses within each of them, not 3. Some of the GM fender lenses have 3 lenses within them and are not the correct ones your Monte.
  6. Bruce, Great info and photos. Thank you for sharing !!
  7. Happy Anniversary. Enjoy the game !!
  8. Willie, Condolences, good thoughts and prayers for you and your family. May cousin Bernie Rest in Peace and watch over your family.
  9. Happy Veteran’s Day to all of those who served our country. Thank you all for your service.
  10. He wasn’t trying to park the car in the Harvard yard? (said in a New England accent)
  11. I’m very sorry to hear this Willie. Condolences, prayers and good thoughts for you and your family. May Bernie Rest In Peace.
  12. Thanks for the info Steve. We buy our 3 day passes on the day we arrive, at the Host hotel. The group that runs the show (used to be Right Coast) has a no refund policy for any reason. Unfortunately life can change or sometimes get in the way, between now and the show dates. Because of their no refund policy, we now purchase them when we get there.
  13. I finally got out with my Monte to meet some of the “NY Sopranos and Friends’’ at a local Cars and Coffee cruise in this morning. It’s been 9 weeks since we were last out for this weekly gathering wIth it raining for the last 8 weekends. It was great to see everyone and let the Monte stretch its legs. A nice way to start my day !!
  14. If you use AC-Delco replacement parts for your Monte, take a look at the part listing. There are usually 3 parts listed for each item which you can order, and where it was manufactured. Made in China, Mexico or the USA. You have to specify which one you want with different prices depending on where it was made. I found this out when I recently ordered a AC-Delco horn relay.
  15. Long Island is finally getting a rain free weekend !! It will be the first one in the last 9 weekends. Looking forward to getting together with some of the “The Sopranos and friends” for Cars and Coffee on Sunday morning.
  16. Dennis, It’s when you don’t get back up, that is the problem. Keep on getting up !!!
  17. Actually the Syracuse Nationals sent reps to SEMA to scout out guests for the upcoming 2024 “Nationals”. Let see who else will appear. Looking forward to seeing him there.
  18. It was going to happen at some point Steve. Last week was a tease with temperatures in the high 70’s and low 80’s. Time to tuck it away for the winter.
  19. Do they hook up an extra battery just for that paint color? Mighty bright !!
  20. Looking good Paul !! Waiting to see your finished product.
  21. Tom, You and the boys are always welcome wherever we are. Always an open invitation !! You just need to get out or off of Staten Italy and come join us. The Syracuse Nationals would be a great place to join and experience with us and other FGMCC members. Loads of vehicles, fun and antics for you. Yes, Musclepalooza or Musclemania (whatever they are now calling it) is on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately both would interfere with your biannual BBQ’s. Yes, Island and Lebanon Valley are now the closest tracks to us on Long Island. We do have RTNS, (Race Track, Not Street) which is part of (LINADS) Long Island Needs A Drag Strip, and has become a seasonal (former Grumman runway used for testing F-14’s) temporary 1/8 mile “NHRA sanctioned” track in Calverton, near Riverhead NY (Long Island). They have to make their track schedule around the Piping Plover mating and birthing season (usually start up in late August and go until the end of October) and don’t allow traction compound of any kind on the track. They just completed their second season. At this point, something is better than nothing since the nearest tracks are hours away.
  22. Thanks for the info Steve. The Syracuse Nationals Host hotel room prices start at $259.99 per night. We definitely have an excellent discounted room rate at our “Club hotel”. If you are possibly thinking of coming to this event please book your room now. This is why this Mini Meet event info is posted early. Save yourself a lot of money and stress.
  23. Hey Jim, Why do you think they come to Syracuse Nationals every year? Now if our Staten Island members would come join us we could have a “Union meeting”.
  24. Beautiful view of your property Ron. Glad you got it patched and are weathertight. Some steep pitches up there. Not worth taking a chance of getting injured doing your roof. Let the roofing professionals take care of it for you. Be safe.
