  1. Hoping for the best Dennis My daughter and her family rode it out and last report they lost four trees but were physically safe and as of yet have seen no house damage in Cape Coral Got a phone call last night around 8PM with that latest report still pretty windy though
  2. Our oldest daughter and her family live in Cape Coral, she said they had lost two trees already and two more ready to go. Shem sent a video of the wind blowin g and howling like nothing I have ever heard the wind blow. This was the last communication we received after her power went off. So I imagine the cell towers are also down so we hope to get an update tomorrow.
  3. On my 72 it had that plug on the back of the AC compressor. It was not required as my replacement compressor did not have it and mt repair guy told me that. It is still on the car tucked up somewhere under the hood

    Jury Duty

I’ve been called three times only one time did I make it to the jury box and that time they dismissed all 12 of us. The judge said that is the first time a whole prospective just had been dismissed at once
  5. According to the fitment chart on page 51 on the website they work for a 6.6L 402 Monte Carlo, a 350 Nova plus a multitude of others
  6. I used two black zip ties with the joint being inside the fan shroud
  7. Well we got the Sniper EFI working great last Saturday. Driving home it died twice, the first time it started after sitting for a minute, it sputtered twice but did not die. The second time it died and we ended up flat bedding it home went out Sunday morning and it fired right up, checked the pickup coil in the HEI, good, Rotor good, Dist cap good. I am getting a fuel pressure gauge to monitor that and to see that maybe there is a problem with the fuel deliver. The only other thing that comes to my mind is the MSD Box is starting to fail but I have never heard of that happening but there are always first for everything. My son in-law Jamey are stumped. New MSD Super Conductor Plug wires, new AC Delco 45TS plugs. The old Taylor plug wires were failing and one article we seen said Taylor Wires are know for causing some problems with the Sniper
  8. We have a shop in Anderson IN called Mielke Way coatings that does hydrodipping and he has a wood grain that is very close to to what was original to our cars. I am not sure how durable t is but it sure looks good when new. He has done some powder coating for me and has done excellent work on that. He also does a coating that he sprays on and when he sprays on his special water it looks like chrome
  9. My 72 has a mild roller cam and lifters with a 700r4 and 3:73 posi in a 8.2 10 bolt if I get on it slightly it will chirp the tires easily. I am getting around 14 to 16 MPG since I put on the Holley Sniper EFI which is better than the Eldebrock 1406 was getting at 12 MPG
  10. Mine came yesterday. Have not loaded the photo to the computer yet it is still on the trusty IPhone
  11. I just removed a 1406 from my mild 350 and went with a Holley Sniper EFI. the 1406 was straight out of the box 10 years ago with only minor adjustments to make the engine purrrr purfectly. Removed a Holley because it would not run very well with it.
  12. getting ready to restain our railings also
  13. I is going to be different. It looks good but I liked the others wheels gooder lol
  14. What is the amount of R134 in our cars, I had mine charged a couple of years ago and he did not tell me how much he put in he just watched for no bubbles in the little window on the system
  15. not really on my Monte but related to one of my displays at the show fields. I have a 1:25th scale model that the drivers side front wheel broke off of. I went to Hobby Lobby to get some model glue and was shocked at the price of it now a days. $2.69 and I can remember when it was $.29 and maybe $.49 but never in my dreams did I think it would be that much. Oh well it is now repaired and ready for the next show.
  16. I got mine from ACC with Monte Carlo script in them six years ago and they still look really good
  17. I mount an auxiliary block behind the kick panel inside the drivers door. hardly noticeable unless you are looking for it
  18. I did like Steve did a piece of aluminum behind the grill. Soo I will have to get another piece for my 10 year badge
  19. I can attest to what Rob said. The code on the paint on my cqr is Ferrari code 190, had the paint mixed to match that code and it was not even close, Took the camera/spectograph out and took the required number of scans and the color was a dead on match. Even if the scan match is off if they have a person with any tinting skills at all they should be able to tweek to match really well. I repainted my car in 2013 with Dupont Code 190 from the Ferrari book and when I needed touch up paint last year there was not a Dupont/Axalta center near me so I went to and R/M retailer they took their camera and shot it the required number of scans and it was nearly a perfect match
  20. Looks like an old style battery hold down, slide the flat end into a hole and a long bolt on the other end goes down next to the battery.
  21. There is a shop here in Anderson IN that does that chrome look on plastic that might be able to fix them or s shop in your area that does that kind of work Mielke Way Coatings, he does hydro dipping and powder coating also. Very nice guy and he does excellent work from what I have seen and on the things I have had done. I do not know what the process is called but they spray something on the part and then spray a special water over that and it looks like chrome when finished. It took him awhile to get it all sorted out but now he is quite proficient at it.
  22. I have not taken the time to play around with it. Nice weather had the gold course calling my name several days this week along with mowing and playing around in my wood shop. My son in-law Jamey has done some investigation into the problem. The likely source of the problem is the Taylor Spark Plug Wires being one of the main issues, According to one article he found that 90% of the time they are the problem. Several sites recommended MSD Super Conductor or Magnecor wires. Right now money is a minor snag in really getting into the solution.
  23. Go with a roller cam and roller lifters the difference is well worth it. My engine builder quoted a price of $1,500 to rebuild my 350 with a .0020 overbore, flat top pistons using my cam that came In The 290 horse crate engine. He was really leased when I told him I wanted a roller cam and lifters and the price only went up $600. I am really glad I went that rout the engine has a nice lope to it and perform s well on the street. With the Flowmaster 40’s and 2 1/2” stainless steel exhaust it sounds really healthy.
  24. Well our trip to the Parts Place car show went well overall. It rained most of the way home and the wipers preformed flawlessly on high quite a bit of the time and on slow rarely. The electronic cleaner I sprayed on the terminals has really helped. Still have not got the washers to work but making progress
