  1. What are you going to watch your grandsons do? LOL LOL LOL And don't go teaching them any of your bad habits like I do to my grand kids, it makes their mother very unhappy but Gramps would have it no other way..
  2. I remember seeing some wheels a few years ago that the lug holes were elongated. I could wee where these hub centric rings would be needed on wheels like that. The lug nuts for these wheels were supposed to line everything up but I have seen them fit loosely when the wrong nuts were used.
  3. I have used POR-15 on a mower deck about 8 years ago. When I scrapped the deck it was still there unharmed but rocks and what ever else was thrown at it. I just used the prep and clean before the Por and it held up very well. I wire brushed of the loose stuff and then the prep and ready. I did the same thing on the Monte frame when I had the motor out last Dec and I have stood on it, dropped tools and hit it with the motor when we reinstalled it. Very good stuff but NOT UV resistant.
  4. Montes parked next to each other and owners sitting together at meets with hardly any tension Whew I am glad I reread that post. I thought you said that they sit next to each other and hold hands. LOL LOL LOL
  5. That is one great looking hood.
  6. My wiring harness has been butchered so bad that my son in-law has talked me into replacing it this winter. Where is the best place to purchase a great quality harness. There are so many splices under the dash that it is hard to trace any wiring. Also while torn apart LED,s for the instrument cluster and put back in a stock heater control so I do not have to use that manual one I put in when I got the AC working. Also what gauges work best for a stock application also my temperature gauge stopped working about 2 months ago and wanting to replace it. Probably should also get circuit board for gauge cluster and replace the last idiot light while it is all apart.
  7. If memory serves me correctly the body color is correct not the satin black.
  8. My dad once told me "never fall in love with a car, son" My dad always told me it was JUST transportation. He basically was right that is what it is but it sure is nice to have transportation that you really like. Whenever we would go out together I would always say there goes a 65 GTO, 72 Monte Carlo or a 63 Split Window Corvette and he would just shake his head a stare at me. When I had my 68 NOVA 4 speed I always had my right hand on the gear shift and that drove him crazy. We are of a different generation than our parents were, some of them grew up in the Depression and had hard lives as youngsters we have had it relatively easy in comparison.
  9. Most of the time if the paint is not faded they can get what is called a blend-able match. The paint is really really close but they spray onto the abutting panel and re clear the entire area. I have also seen some shops panel paint because the insurance companies do not like to pay the extra time to blend the paint. At our Dupont jobber paint store we have an Acquire tool that takes a picture of the car and then the computer matches it up to a color that will closely match your color. We also can key in your VIN# and get a real decent match. Several shops in our area have this tool or a similar one to help them match up the colors.
  10. Calling Leo works a lot better. He is not on the computer that much.
  11. I used POR 15 engine paint. Brushes on and looks great. Nice glass and very durable.
  12. All of the brass needs to be gone. I had a 1/4 replaced on a n car and they braised and pop riveted it on. In one year the pop rivets started showing cracking around them and then the brass was not as bad but it also was starting to show. It all had to be redone and this time a wire welder was used.
  13. I recognized all of those products.

  21. Yes the rod sticks straight up and the lost is right next to the mounting bracket. The base of the switch is usually tan and where the metal meets the plastic at the angle of the bracket is the slide for the rod to slide onto. I know exactly what I am saying but it may not translate into words all that well.
