sendo Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 hello, where is the correct placement of this valve on a 70ss? I googled pictures and seen it mounted all different kind of way, up high on the fender, down low under the a/c line, vacuum part facing back to the firewall, vacuum facing front to radiator Quote
overdrive Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 I took this photo this afternoon of the '70 SS I got a few days ago. It's never been replaced. This is the factory location. Dan Quote
DragCat Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 This is what mine looked like before I started disassembly, I'd say it has the replacement part you pictured but i can't verify its factory correct. Quote
Rob Peters Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Mine is not a SS but I don't think they mounted any differently. Here is a copy of mine from when I was restoring my Air Conditioning: Rob 1 Quote
overdrive Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 I believe they were mounted the same place, no matter engine size. Dan Quote
71MonteCarloMD Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 I’m assuming this is for Montes with AC only? Quote
rsorg Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 hi, is this for 70 only or for a 72 also ,i have owned my 72 for 40 years have never had this on my 72 thanks Quote
Canuck Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 The inner fender mounted valve is for 1970 cars with AC. In 1971 it was mounted on the intake. In 1972 it was eliminated completely. Here’s where it is on my 71. 1 Quote
