hello,

where is the correct placement of this valve on a 70ss? I googled pictures and seen it mounted all different kind of way, up high on the fender, down low under the a/c line, vacuum part facing back to the firewall, vacuum facing front to radiator

I took this photo this afternoon of the '70 SS I got a few days ago. It's never been replaced. This is the factory location.

This is what mine looked like before I started disassembly, I'd say it has the replacement part you pictured but i can't verify its factory correct.

Mine is not a SS but I don't think they mounted any differently.  Here is a copy of mine from when I was restoring my Air Conditioning:

I believe they were mounted the same place, no matter engine size.

The inner fender mounted valve is for 1970 cars with AC. In 1971 it was mounted on the intake. In 1972 it was eliminated completely. Here’s where it is on my 71.
