Alex & Keith 72 Monte
Hi - restoring our ‘72 and 90% sure this was part of parking brake hooks. Can’t figure out where this part goes and evidently only had the one large hook going to Trans cross-member. Bought two additional smaller side hooks for cable. Thanks! Dtret
Just set it aside. You’ll come up with a use for it. Hopefully not on the Monte.
cny first gen 71
Yea definitely not for a first gen Monte but like Dennis said set it aside you never know when it may come in handy for something.
Leghome
Looks like an old style battery hold down, slide the flat end into a hole and a long bolt on the other end goes down next to the battery.
Alex & Keith 72 Monte
Thanks Gents! Finished up underneath. Now for engine and exhaust. Funny the things one comes across in restoration.

Alex & Keith 72 Monte
I know where that part goes now - you were right Leghome! The battery tie down for my ‘74 Bricklin SV1 that is partially restored! The Monte is way ahead in restoration.
Dtret
Oops. Wrong car, wrong parts box. I’ve scratched my head a few times on mixed parts. Lol. To much going on at one time. 1
willie
I have a hard enough time keeping track of one cars parts, never mind two. Nice that you figured it out!!! They Look Great!!
cbolt
Bag and tag all your parts. I go through a few boxes of ziplock baggies whenever I am doing a project. Just mark it all with a sharpie and you will be good to go. Learned that in the Navy. We would tie the bags of hardware right on the panel or part you were working on so anyone could walk up and pick up right where you left off. Easy peasy
