  2. Try moving your gear selector slightly when you are trying to start. That's how I found out mine was out of adjustment.
  3. I had this problem on my 70 with floor shift Turbo 400. The neutral safety switch was out of adjustment. On the floor shift cars it is at the shifter. On the column shift cars I believe it mounted on the steering column. If you jumper the switch and it starts ok you found that its the adjustment or a bad switch. It sounds like an adjustment issue to me.

  5. Went on a poker run Saturday and at the first stop my car wouldn't start, nothing, no starter click, nothing. Key in run position and crawled underneath, not an easy task for a 71 year old, anyway jumped the selinoid and fired right up. Left it running for the rest of the run. Once home shut it off and now starts fine. I am guessing either a faulty safety neutral switch or ignition switch. Any other thoughts? I hate when problems are intermittent!

Terrible storms here in Ky yesterday at 2 pm and again this morning at 130 am.. thunder actually made the house shake 🫨!!. Loudest thunder I’ve heard in my entire life.. Glad no one was injured there mark. 5 killed in Ky …
  7. Getting closer, gathering things I need to take in one spot so hopefully I don’t forget something.. car is ready as it will ever be.. no more upgrades scheduled before then.. Dang ! If you have to be 21 in PA to enjoy an adult drink, that leave me out.:( ..
  8. I mentioned fishing and unfortunately I wasn't able to do any but I will be fishing cold beverages out of the cooler while bench racing
  9. The first thing that popped into my mind was the Neutral Safety Switch. rob
  10. Yesterday
  11. Steve, just like your cancer treatments, A Day At A Time. Apply that same philosophy to getting your SS cleaned up and looking good again, just take it A Day At A Time. Small Steps. The older I get I find it easier to take jobs around the house in small bites. Still gets done, just not as quickly. rob

Glad everyone is safe.and no major damage. It has been crazy 🤪 weather. Ohio has had 32 tornadoes 🌪. Already. Luckily none touch down were I'm at....
  14. Someone mentioned fishing in the chat box, I'll be fishing cold ones in the cooler when we're bench racing 🤣 And yes I'm over 21

    Storms

Hopefully nobody experienced anything catastrophic ..... Last night it sounded like a train was rolling through behind the house 😲 This morning 3 trees uprooted, one in the lawn and 2 in the pastures ( of course they fell on fencing) and a multitude of branches and limbs everywhere 🙃 Luckily nothing damaged house/barn/building wise 😁 Spent all day rocking chain saws trying to clean everything up, still probably have 2 days at least of clean up 🙃 So much for taking the Monte for a spin today 😩
  16. Please don't be miserable you beat the disease and all will get done in good time. Don't push it it'll all get done in due time.
  17. Try to keep your thoughts positive. I hope you have betten the cancer. Do what you can do and I'll keep you in my prayers 🙏.
  18. You know what they say, "If it's to good to be true, It's not true". I had this go around with some Monte Carlo parts some time ago, day after day requests about price, where we could meet up and do the exchange (big pieces ,too much $$ to ship). Parts not in state listed, heck I even offered to drive from Carlisle to pick them up since it was closer there than where I'm at. No deal, I knew all along it was a scam in my mind and darn it.... it was. So, "if you know the man, know the plan" .There are way to many out there that just love to get you hooked in. Buyer Beware!!
  19. I only have three left. Check out my other post in Restorers for information. This is it. When they are gone there won’t be any more available. Shipping is $6. You can PM me.
  20. Does anyone know the process they use to resore these pieces? Is the centre of the piece anodized or painted or?
  21. just got back home after being away at the cancer hospital. my 70 SS horribly filthy. and not well taken care of in my absence by my well meaning sons. my being gone and illness probably set me back years.. I am miserable.
  22. Boy can I relate to this topic!!!!! They sure were able to feed my need. terrible people.
  23. dusted off the monte and might take for a ride today
  24. Sadly the cuts have already been made. I'm actually RE-patching them, because my homemade ones weren't good enough. The patch panel is crimped and under the remaining original fender material. I'm not too worried about warping, I can easily take my time doing small welds etc. I'm more worried about it lining up with the body lines correctly. It's been so long since my car has been together I swear I forget how it's supposed to look lol. I think I'm at the right place to tack it and work on the edges/seams but I'm unsure
  25. If you can I'd cut it just under the body line, things will have less of a tendency to warp if you weld closer to a body line.
