2"! The 17/8 will give you more bottom end torque. With a 454 and 4.11 gear that is a moot point. Let her breathe!!!

Also to what overdrive stated, the back drive is the same for column shifted cars also. On the floor shift cars it's mostly to lock the column in the park position, even tho it's a floor shift, so you can remove the ignition key and lock the steering wheel.
  8. In the cold, the seals shrink. When warm, they expand. Even the slightest space, trans fluid will find a way out. Also, if the seals are old they become brittle and not pliable anymore.
  9. Other than drilling new holes, cut off the studs on the new trim pieces and double adhesive tape them on. Pretty much the only 2 choices. 🤔

  12. Yay! I'm wrong, kinda. Lol. CPA and CPD are correct for a 71 SS 454 Monte Carlo. 🤔
  13. Ummmmm, errrrrr, ughhhhhh, correct me if I am wrong but isn't the 71 SS 454 Monte Carlo engine suffix CPA? Not CPD? CPD, from what I see is used for 71-72 454s but not in the Monte. The 11KT....... Is the partial Vin from the vehicle that donated it's 454. Yes? T0104CPD=. Tonowanda plant, January, 4th
  14. Definitely 750-800cfm. You will have great throttle response with the 600 but will run out of power earlier, most likely run lean and hotter.
  15. Most likely they put the studs closer due to it being easier to drill the caps and mount the trim to them.
