    Aaron, Do you know the correct location for the “Keep your GM Car all GM” decal for a 70 SS? I’ve seen some in the same location as your 71 SS and I’ve seen others closer to the front of the air cleaner. Thanks, Sammy

    I had a customer a few years ago that brought his new Silverado back to the dealership complaining about a rattle. Turned out to be his flashlight in the console. He was a little embarrassed. I was just glad it was an easy fix!

    The truck brings back memories. My dad bought a New 67 C10 about that color when I was 6 years old. That was back in the day when it was common to ride in the bed of a pickup. My brother, sister and I would ride in the back of the truck with our three dogs. Dad kept it about 15 years and I drove it when I got my license. I loved that truck.

    It was probably June of 1978 when I bought my 71. It was my first car and I had just finished my sophomore year of high school. I still have it.

    Welcome! Enjoyed your story! When I was a kid, my Dad kept the air cleaner lid flipped on our family car. It was a 72 Buick Estate Wagon with a 455. It was heavy and I’m sure slow off the line, but it sounded so good. Naturally when I bought my first car in 1978 (a 71 Monte Carlo) the first thing I did was flip the lid!

    Welcome! What a great looking car to start with. Brings back memories for me. My first car was a black 71 Monte Carlo. I still have her, but painted her blue about 30 years ago. Looking forward to seeing your progress!
