What size engine are you working on??
  5. I've never rebuilt one of these cars but the frame to me looks unusable. Good luck with the project.
  6. Is this an air car? Not sure if they used them but could it be for a thermo limiter for air conditioning? Just a guess
  7. Got ya, I guess just focus on what's important to you. Good luck!
  8. I don't understand the rant. If you find the right car what does it matter how many owners it's had. Unless that's what you are looking for. I found a car that was as close to original and have spent my time making it as correct as possible. With the help of members on this site. Good luck with your search
  9. you learn something here every day it seems
  10. Congratulations on the new opportunity, good luck and hopefully you will truly have a happy new year....
  11. When I changed out the rear springs I jacked the car up and put it on jack stands. I put the floor jack under the axle housing to hold it in place. I removed the shock nut on one side, pulled the shock out of the housing and then lowered the floor jack. That takes the tension out of the rear spring. With the pressure of the spring you can remove the spring or if you are just replacing the cushion you may be able to get a hand up on top. The raise the housing back up and replace the nut. Then to the other side. It worked for me, there may be a better way that another member can confirm. Good luck
  12. I have an extra new fuel line, pump to carb if you're interested
  13. The hose runs from the distributor to the carburetor
  14. Ditto on the timing, did you possibly pull off the vacuum advance hose?
  15. Welcome to the club..please post some progress pictures.
  16. I thought my car was leaking at the pan. I replaced the pan gasket but the real problem was the shifter shaft seal. I got that seal replaced and the leak is gone.
  17. They look great, you can send them to me to try on my ss
  18. One would think that they would have put the studs in the same spot
  19. I removed the other plug, the harnesses come with the extra plug for a manual transmission. The prior owner left it on
  20. I found a picture of my car, looks like a black seal or boot covers the switch
  21. I agree, I don't remember mine being green, I think the boot that covers the wires might be missing
