    We have put rims with 5 1/2 inch backspace and they do fit but I'm not sure if you have another 1/2 of room.

    The bracket is 2 3/4"

    Here is a standard mirror on on of our 70 Monte's. The mounting screws for the bracket is 2 1/8" center of screws.hope this helps

    First off welcome !!! First gen Monte's could have come with several different mirrors.there was the standard mirror ,chrome remote,or sport mirror in 71/72 If you can post a picture of what you have it would help.

    The backing plates are silver cad. The spindles are chassis black.and the caliper brackets are golden cad it is a three color process red and green also.

    The car in the picture also has the Halo top .Not all 70 Montes got that either i think?

    So now the "Covid" Monte is back in my possession,try to keep up with the horse trading that goes on in our family lol. Put Rally wheels back on changed the oil and gave it a quick wash.
