    I've seen more 70SS with bench seats than 71 SS. I think Rob is right when he says they didn't track that . My 71 SS has buckets.

    Look by the valve stems there will be numbers and letters Example k-1-0 -4 valve stem 24 YH K=kelsey-hayed 1=Romulus,mi plant 0=1970 4=month made April 24=day of month YH=wheel code Hope this helps

    Also make sure that if your car is a numbers matching car that he is going to rebuild your engine and tran not swap them out and send yours back as cores.

    So sorry for your loss. I recently bought a 71 SS from a gentleman who really loved the car but was not able to drive it as much as he liked. I felt so honored when I got the feeling he was looking for a new home for his Monte and that my family could give it a good home. Again so sorry for the loss of your wife.

    My 71 SS has an original map light. The wire runs from the map light across the driver's side in the molding at the top of the window down the A pillar and to the fuse block where the dome lights and under dash light plug in it has a small orange jumper that he gray dome light wire connects to. It is the blue plug you see in photo. Hope this helps
