  1. As a local guy we start seeing cars rolling in town the Sunday and Monday before the show and see them running around town the whole week. All the local cruise ins are usually packed that week. Here its a week long show before the show even starts. I go into tge fairgrounds on Wednesday because we camp there for the rest of the week and most of the campers have show cars so it like a car show all week long in the camping area. It's a great time for sure, if you've never been trust me you want to go. Take it from someone that has never missed this show since it started 20 some years ago.

  4. This is three shows in one: The main show at the fairgrounds with about 8,000 cars, the nightly "show" at the host hotel and surrounding streets, and, if you haven't seen enough, get an ice cream and walk around the FGMCC hotel lot to finish out the day. Great shows, cars, food, and company!

  7. That is not impossible for sure I have just never heard of that before. When I worked for Delco Remy of General Motors we did have marking mechanisms on our machines to show which ones had made the part, that way they could trace said part especially if it was defective

  8. I found this in a Chevelle book I have. It seems to list Monte Carlo's too. If I'm reading it right, for a 1970 Van Nuys, 350 4bbl with a TH350, (L48 engine) it should be a white & purple stripe. The 'Chevelle' site has a listing too, but doesn't have a Monte listed for that application. http://chevellestuff.net/1970/misc/driveshaft.htm Stripe Info: http://chevellestuff.net/qd/drive_shaft_colors.htm driveshaft stripes2 (1).pdf driveshaft stripes1 (1).pdf

  10. My 1970 Monte has a bench seat. I would like to get a bench seat center console in black. Does anyone have a recommendation? Thanks Wayne.

  11. Brendan, Yes, I picked up your check at the post office box yesterday and also deposited it yesterday. Just in case you have not noticed yet Brendan, as of yesterday evening your profile has already been updated to reflect that you are now identified as a Full Fledged Dues Paying member of the club. One way to identify this is has been done is you will now see this badge to the left of each of your posts, below your screen name. You should also notice you have some additional "Forums" have been opened up for your viewing pleasure. These additional forums are only available to full fledged dues paying members of the club. Just a note, if you are looking on some cell/mobile phones you may not see the FGMCC Member Badge but you will see it on most tablets, laptops and computers. rob

  12. Mike, the monte Carlo Hall has changed names shortly after I took that picture. So happy I took it when I did!

  13. AMD does make very nice partial and full quarter panels. Since our Monte’s tend rust around the wheel well lip and behind them, you can cut out what you need for new replacement metal or replace with a partial or full panel.

  14. Mine is original from the factory but all of the wiring goes directly into the plugs with none of the blue quick connectors. rob

  15. The blue quick connector is also an indication of the factory installed system. The washer fluid monitor is included in the lighting convenience package. I ordered a new float for mine. The original is now a non-float. Dan

  18. I’d say it is likely to be an SS454 but need to see the engine block or trans to verify.

  19. Steve, we sure do miss you guys too !! Someday we will return and are looking forward to seeing everyone ! For us , it's like family that we actually like being around and haven't seen in a long time. Man , the year that it rained so proved to me what a true die hard that you really are. What a great family of friends !!

  20. I put the proper connectors on the motor and wire also, so it looks factory. Much better than a blue scotch lock.

  21. I got it to work correctly on the bench. If the video loads correctly it shows the correct colors at the end. It took a second to figure out the float. The light does go on and off as the wipers are turned on and off. IMG_4750.MOV
