  1. Glad everything went well...here's to a fast recovery! Steve
  2. Until the roads are cleaned.....................nothing....lol. But a heads up, we are planning on going to the Syracuse Nationals again this year!!! July 19th-21st.
  3. The felts are the same as a Cutlass I've been told. Steve
  4. I agree with above....... But we need more pics of the car!!!! Steve
  5. Just turn down tail pipes...my 2 cents...lol Steve
  6. Structurally, the Monte and the Chevelle are the same car from the cowl back......just different external sheet metal.
  7. I'll agree.....way too much work to take them off....... hopefully someone will come up with a set for you Jared. Mine are in good shape but put me down for a new set once you get this done! Steve
  8. I had a friends father who the jack fell on....no one was home. they say he suffocated to death. I never even consider not using stands...ever!!!! Steve
  9. Remember speed limits of 55? It still is 55 here on long Island!!! lol...... nobody drives at 55 unless they see a cop (funny how they all jam their brakes at that moment) but the limit is 55! Steve
  10. Nice article, thanks for sharing! Steve
  11. Like everything else at GM back then....it's what they had at the time your car was built. Maybe they had 2 different distributors who made the knobs? Steve
  12. I've seen the vin in two other places besides the one in the front window. One is under the A/C or non-AC heater box and the other was on the left side rear frame under the trunk between the last two body bolts. For the one on the frame you are going to need a mirror to see it. My 2 cents, Steve
  13. Found it and I'm following!! Thanks!! Steve
  14. It's a big project for a gauge that does little to nothing. I never understood why they have an Amp gauge and not a volt gauge. If it's pointing straight up i'd just leave it alone. Steve
  15. I watched it, it was entertainment at the expense of a Monte. I wasn't impressed with any of the workmanship and I bet it only made it onto the track because it was for TV. No way that wreck was track worthy. My 2 Cents, Steve
  16. Congrats on the baby!!! They are a lot of fun!!! The expense never ends....lol.... Steve
  17. Thanks for the write up. Looks great!! Can't wait to see how it functions. What rear gear are you running and I'll be curious to see how much the RPM's drop. How much horsepower can that unit handle? Steve
  18. The 3/4 headers are nice but I've installed 2 different sets on 2 Monte's and both had the same issue as Dennis's. I used the Patriots on mine and I forget the name brand on Dan's but the left side was always an issue with the down pipe and the angle. In order to make a nice smooth transition the pipe had to come down real low to make a decent curve. Now I see what Dennis did and that's fine with the sharp angle and welded back together but in my opinion that has to take away performance. Yes my hooker headers seem a bit low but I have yet to have any issues except for the once but that was my own fault. My 2 cents Steve
  19. Local friend used that in his Monte..... it worked.... He said it was no big deal to install. With the exception of taking the doors off to drill the holes through the doors and cowl it's not that difficult to add power windows. I've done it twice but using factory stuff. I don't see the boots for the wiring when it passes through the door to the cowl. I would also see if you can get a copy of the directions to see how it's wired into the fuse box and that the motors use the factory holes for mounting. Steve
  20. In that spot was a plastic push in nut (similar to the plastic nuts that are used on the license plate but smaller). That hole in the rocker should be approximately 3/8 square. The molding has a hole in the end that a screw goes through and into the nut to hold everything from moving. Steve
  21. Those are some funky headers down there.....lol. Mine are the standard all four pipes coming down together. My front rims are 17x8' with a 4.5" backspacing. My front tires are 26" tall which actually drops the front just a bit with the back tires being 27.2" tall. Gives me a slight "rake". Steve
  22. You look like you have plenty of ground clearance...... It's got to be weak springs/shock why your bottoming out like that.
  23. As far as I know they were bare metal... I painted mine a shade of gray because I drive it a lot and not to concerned about it being correct. Steve
