When I was 16 years old, I made a deal with a guy on a 72 Gran Torino Sport. He backed out at the last minute because his wife didn’t want him to sell it. The following week I found my 71 Monte. I wasn’t crazy about it at first, but it beat driving my dad’s 67 C10 pickup. I bought it for $1,425 and made it my own. The rest is history! 43 years later and I still own it. I’ve been selling new Chevrolets for 33 years. No telling where I would be now if I had bought that Ford.

Same here. Mine was a loose connection at the dimmer switch.

Same here! My 71 started life as a base 350 bench seat car with AC and it has the belt line molding. I’ve owned the car 43 years and didn’t know this was an option until I saw it here recently. I was just telling my wife how much I learn here!

On Sunday I drove my 71 for the first time since my surgery in December. As soon as I started her up, the gas gage went to 3:00 o’clock. I guess I’m chasing the same gremlin!

Next Project! I need to clean mine up too.

I just received my 5 year badge and I have a question. Should it come with some type of backing plate to hold it on? Mine came with the badge, two studs, and two nuts.
