bigtankjones
Is that a white vinyl top? That will set that blue off! Fantastic! Nope Glen. Dave just did a make shift top I think to know where the edge was to cut and buff. It does look cool though. I can't copy Sam.

72MC
Tony, that is looking Super Purdy!!! I'm sure spring wont come soon enough to go cruising. You'll be like a kid at Christmas but instead of presents, you'll be pining for good weather. - Dave
bigtankjones
I got some more pictures from Dave this morning. Buffed the right quarter Tuesday night. Next onto the doors and trunk lid.

Black vinyl. That had always been my dream is a Dark Blue with Black vinyl top Monte.
bigtankjones
Went out today to help prep the back side of the trunk lid and doors. For a better look at the paint job on the body since it was outside. Looks great. Dave sprayed and cleared the backsides of the doors and trunk lid. Tomorrow night we block the outsides of the doors and trunk lid and spray color. Pictures to follow on that process. Here are photos of today's work. Leghome
Tony don't let it touch that FURD behind it or bad things might happen. I parked next to an old rusty furd pickemup last summer an I seen some of the rust try to jump over to the Monte :yay:
Rob Peters
Very, Very Nice. it is great you are able to help out in the prep/paint/finish work. Not everyone is that lucky and it is something you can really take pride and brag about while bench racing at meets and car cruises. rob
bigtankjones
Update on my Monte. Doors and Trunk lid where painted Thursday night. Then Dave Cut and Buffed them Friday and Saturday. bigtankjones
It's been a while since I had any updates on my Monte. I went out to Dave's shop last Sunday and we started working on the front pieces again. Dave sprayed epoxy primer on the right front fender today and I see from the photo he has reprimed the left front fender and sprayed guide coat on it. I'm heading out to the Shop in the morning to flip over the hood and prep the underside for Black epoxy primer. From the picture of the fender. It looks like I did a pretty good job on the lower patch work.

bigtankjones
Went out today after 10am and sanded and scotch brighted the under side of the hood. Dave sealed the underside then mixed up some base coat black. Wanted to block the right front fender, but he said he used a House Of Kolor primer and it still wasn't dry enough yet to block. I will go back out Tuesday evening and flip the hood over so we can block it. Talking color next Saturday.

Mo's70MCs
Great pictures.. Tony. Now the hood has to be near perfect, cause you'll be looking down it all the time, any lil flaw and you'll be kicking yourself in the behind for not paying more attention on it. Leghome
"any lil flaw and you'll be kicking yourself in the behind" I know that form personal experience on my hood.
bigtankjones
Update on the 70 Monte. I went out to Dave's this morning to help hang the fenders and hood on the car. Got to go back out tomorrow and loosen up the core support to open up the gap I the left front fender. Dave has to finish the fender extension front and rear yet. Almost done.
