Recently bought this 1971 Monte Carlo, with the 402 motor. It's been in the same family for about 47 years and garage store, same mechanic had been servicing her. All original. Only thing she needs is a door strap for the passenger side. Any advice welcome on this.

Welcome aboard the FGNCC club website.

Beautiful Monte you have there.  Keep the pictures coming. There are a lot of knowledgeable people so feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Keep the pictures coming because we love pictures.

Just a few  questions I have for you like, do you know any history on the car, was it originally sold in New Zealand, if not how did it end up there??,

Welcome. Nice to find something that nice hidden away. Well done. Because ignorance is my specialty, what’s with the red on the rims?Is that an original thing?

I was wondering that too, think they are supposed to be car color and hub caps were too I think.

Thanks for the welcome. The car was imported in New Zealand by legendary Kiwi racer Kenny Smith in 72 who should it on to the family I bought it from. The rims are coloured that way with the chrome hubcaps. The spare is exactly the same. Also have the original owners manual and some bits and bobs spares. The only thing we need is a blue for strap for the passenger door, which the owner took out and was lost by the guy who was supposed to do it

Welcome Conrad!!!    She is beautiful, I love Blue!!!   I was also wondering why they painted the rims red?????

I really don't know. The outer of the room is painted red with the hubcap fitting inside. The rest of the inner rim is black.
