  1. No worries Rob, it's largely an unsung unseen process by volunteers here that keep the place chugging along. Throwing out the occasional kudos or banana is ok 🤣

  2. Dennis you have to be in the everyday is Sat group for that!!! lol

  3. That’s funny Willie. I just took a gas tank to the head today. Pretty decent gouge. lol. So the before pic will have previous marks. I worked on it about 4 hours Saturday and got all the electrical pulled. I also marked everything so the rebuild goes smoothly. We will see what the next trip brings back here.

  4. Did you ever notice... on so many of the Facebook groups dedicated to the First Generation Monte Carlo how many Scam Ads and Knock -Off T-Shirt ads they have. If yes, have you also noticed that don't see much of that here on the FGMCC site or even the Facebook group that Aaron (Canuck) manages. That is because of the screening process we use here when someone wants access to post on the site. Even if some of them do get through it is almost always quickly noticed by our moderators and admins and those posts are quickly removed and the poster banned from the site. We rarely have members scammed on items posted for sale here and we rarely have to remove posts or ban people from posting. This is a very safe place to come to for your needs. rob

  9. Is it possible there is only 56 days until some of our members start arriving in Carlisle for our Eastern Meet. Not only is it possible, it is absolutely true, only 56 days and a wake-up is where our countdown is until members start arriving in Carlisle. rob

  13. I never liked how far the tail light housing stuck out from the factory quarter panel, so I popped the spot welds yesterday, got it wedged out, and welded it back together. Next is to finish the hood and other body work and hope to get it in paint before summer. Of course no photos, I'm terrible at that.

  15. I also would love to go to one of Aaron's meets in the BC. The pictures he posts of that area are beautiful. We can't this year but my wife and I have talked about either flying out one year. In reality we would have a couple or 3 options: 1) Fly out, rent a car and join i the fun. 2) Do a Canadian cross country train trip over to BC, rent a car and go to the meet or 3) Fly there from Eastern Canada go to the meet and then take the cross country Canadian train ride back east. rob

  24. When I moved to Ca they nailed me for my Bronco NOT being built with Ca emission equip 😲 There was a class action lawsuit so I got some back, years later of course. Fl hits you with the sales tax when you buy a new vehicle, I think its 6%. My vanity tag on the suburban is roughly $70 for a 2 year renewal.

  26. That's why I left many of the groups, The Ohio group I run isn't nearly as big and the spammers still slip by sometimes, but I try my best to keep them out

  27. I remembered them as tabs and not cups. They were on a 68 Impala I had. I had forgot about them until I saw the photo of the interior of a 72 Monte that was for sale and really want to get some to keep the rear seatbelts organized, at least the buckle portion.
    1 point
  28. The rear seat technically weren’t cups. They were plastic pieces at the base of the rear seat that the belt buckles clipped on to. My low mile 72 had those as well as on the front bench seat.

  29. I apologize for not being clear. I was not intending for this post to be for kudo's being directed to the officers, admin's and moderators. It was only to point out how we don't see that kind of activity here. It is very hard for platforms like facebook to filter out those kind of people due to the large number of people using it. rob

  30. Learned something new today. Looks like something that’s feasible in a home shop for small parts. Thanks for the info.

  31. I thought the seat belt cups in the rear might be a dealer add on but not sure. As for the cruise control, I think the load level compressor did not leave enough room for the cruise control to be installed at the factory. I have seen dealer installed cruise control on an SS454 though. There is room but maybe weren’t able to make it work as a factory installation.

  33. Well, we now know who is Member Number 75 but not just number 75..... We now have 76 members registered with me to attend. I have just added Tom Carter #75 and his sister Eileen Powers as #76, each bringing their own Monte. Saturday 8:55PM March 23rd I just added Member Number 77, Mike Mnich from Pennsylvania, his Monte sounds very interesting, looking forward to seeing it in Carlisle UPDATE, UPDATE, UPDATE Ryan Palmer has now registered with me and registered with the hotel. April 7, update...Member Kevin Low notified me he is coming to the Eastern Meet. He will be doing a room share with a member who already has a room. Since Kevin is sharing a room, we stlll have 1 room left in the club block of rooms at the Fairfield Inn and Suites. This brings the total number of members registered with me to a whopping 79 members. NEW UPDATE, UPDATE, UPDATE - April 21, update... I had heard from Terry Reynolds a few days ago. Awhile back he had told me he could not make it this year. He sent me an e-mail has now registered with me. Terry will not be able to be there the whole time but he is going to try to be there on Saturday. Terry usually only comes down for Saturday to hang with the club members. If I am not mistaken, John may have reserved the last room in our block at the host hotel. Don't worry if you would like to come but need a room. The Host Hotel is currently SOLD OUT but, I do have a backup hotel under contract for 15 rooms. Also I am working with the host hotel general Manager and they have told me if they get any cancellations outside of our block of rooms and we have someone who needs a room they will offer that cancelled room me for our group. With the registration of Terry Reynolds, we now have 81 members registered with me to attend the meet. 36. Not sure it will ever be ready enough to drive it that far AAron!!! But if i am not mistaken, there were some promises made that if you came here, we would go there!!! And by we, that would be Joe, Dennis and I, and anyone else that would like to go!!! And I do still standby that, but still not sure about driving there! Dennis is correct!! However if anyone would like to wage Dennis twice the amount, like large amount i might go if i can split it with you!!! LOL

  41. Not sure how the other states calculate license fees, but here in California where they always have their hand in your pocket, they base them on purchase price. 62k would cost about $6200 in sales tax plus $650-$700 in annual registration fees.
