Jim Leonardis
Friends, I have a 1970 Monte Carlo that needs to have some work on the roof prior to AM Trimmers putting new HALO vinyl top back on. I have run into a brick wall with seeking body shops. Wondering if anyone in club has any connections? Thank You in advance for any assistance.
MC1of80
Beautiful Monte! Speaking from experience, this is where the snowball starts. My brother and I went to do the same thing to a 71 Chevelle I had years ago. The roof, one door and the trunk lid were the only original pieces of sheet metal left. The 71 402 4 speed we are restoring will have even less. 2

This is (thankfully) the first and only ‘Starsky & Hutch’d’ Chevelle I’ve ever seen.
71SSclone
I am going through the same thing. Thought I could get away with just repairing the metal underneath the vinyl top, snowballed into a complete body restoration. Lots of pictures under my rebuild thread. Good luck, you have a beautiful Monte!

They were built in 71 and 72 0nly. Factory stripes.
1970mcss
A buddy of mine had one, orange with black stripes. It was a basic car, I think it had a rubber floor mat instead of carpeting.

That said, I still think it’s ugly. Not quite as ugly as Dennis’s feet that find their way into pictures he posts, but ugly nonetheless.

I hope you found a place to get you fixed up.

It’s about time you show your print here again, been a while. Add to your post, what’s going on with you and the Monte.

The body work is at around 90% complete.

It was to do with size limitations. Great to see that your still plugging away.
1Bad454
So does anybody know if that is a factory color? If so I'm considering painting my Monte that color.
