Mike 57
I found a old hood and decided to build a hood. Here it is welded up and roughed in and primed. I really needed the carb clearance and now I can put a spacer under the carb. I think it should help it pick up a little bit. The plan is to build a air pan under the carb and seal it to the hood. footballubet
Looking good! Are you filling in the vents on the back?
Mike 57
Thanks Guys! Dave, NO! I have a hard enough time doing it for myself. It took so darn long to weld that thing and not warp it! That hood and cowl have been sitting for over a year, I finally got my butt in gear. Scott, I cut the center of the vents out and patched it in before putting the cowl on. I like the vents in the back. I cut the cowl so the trim can go on the back also.

7tonemonte
Underside is pretty! Looks like a fairly large step on the topside, maybe even big enough for a small porch.

Mike 57
Sounds good Tony! You bring it down and I will draw some lines on it for you! Sam, Just the rear center brace. Then I welded the top portion of the hood to the braces where the opening is cut.
