stangeba
Just noticed your upper arms have the bushings attached by nuts where my 71 uses a 9/16" head bolt. Wonder if that is a 70 - 71 change? Bruce

cny first gen 71
Finished putting the plugs in today and took it out in the driveway for some air and to run a little. Finished sanding and polishing the windshield trim, it looks pretty darn good for fourty plus year old trim.

CKZ03
Started getting my seats ready to get redone. Thought I found another build sheet inside the rear seat, turned out someone just threw garbage inside it As a constalation prize I found a canadian build sheet in one of the buckets purchased to replace my former power bench. Found it under drivers seat springs. Looks like they came out of a 350 2 barrel car. Its always cool finding stuff like this, even if it isnt for my car. Rear seat stripped down & sandblasted ready for fresh paint. Im eliminating any chance of anything smelling like mouse urine, cant stand that smell, & there were plenty of mice living in this car. Absolutely everything is getting blasted, cleaned, painted and/or replaced. Only things Im reusing from the seats is whats made of steel.
footballubet
Started on my remote power door locks and trunk release install. Should have brought home my impact driver from work as the screws on the door latches won't turn. Got the wires run for the passenger side. Trimmed the trunk opening for the power latch and got that installed but didn't get the wire run for it. Started late in the day and not rushing it. I'll be doing a review of it after I finish the install. Stay tuned.

GREENSHOTRODS
I was pretty happy with how the tank and pump turned out so I thought I would spend a little time on the differential cover. Now the axle housing and exhaust look bad haha...its always something !
Paul Bell
Now that's what I'm talkin about!! Hey Kevin, shouldn't the sump be more at the rear or the tank towards the the bumper? If you're making some "real" power (and it looks like you are heeheehee) and you're hooking, I would suggest you get one of those cast covers that'll help support the bearing caps. They also have way convenient fill and drain plugs.
GREENSHOTRODS
I talked to a bunch of different people about where the best place to put the sump and as usual the more people I asked the more confused I got. So done some mockup and I thought it looked the best on the bottom and I know I know when im out doing hole shots the gas will be running away from the sump. So I told myself " self just don't let the tank get to Low " LOL ! What I did screw up on is how hi I put the fittings in the sump ! Don't like how it looks but ill get over it I guess ! I looked at those Paul but as usual I went over budget on the fuel system so maybe next time
Paul Bell
A friend recently shattered his 12 bolt in his blown '66 Impala (he says it's because I told him it would happen). He's ordered a D60. Years ago, I cleaned the teeth off my 9 inch. When I get this car apart again, I'm going with a D60.
CKZ03
Not much progress this weekend, indulged a bit for St Pattys day . Dropped my seats off at the upholstery shop this week. Currently trying to finish up my complete replacement wiring project. Had to temp install my dash in an effort to route & fit dash harness/bazillion wires. Disregard the mess, Im definetly not done yet.
footballubet
Those pictures remind me of the year I got mine together for the Eastern Meet in Greensburg, Pa. I was still installing interior pieces in the parking lot of the Meet. But I was there! Looking forward to seeing your car at the Meet this year...in 95 days! CKZ03
After 18+ years of darkness & silence, left alone & abandonded my Monte got its first spark of life back today. First time the lights have been on in a LONG time, also the first time its been started with a key in many, many years. Definetly an exciting day. Some of you know I have been working on installing the American Auto Wire upgraded wiring system and recently completed the installation of new wiring in the entire car. Im currently going through each electrical system checking for proper operation, so far all is good. A few pics of wiring in process, believe me Im not really leaving everything looking this ugly. The dash is just temporarily installed for mocking up & routing the wiring, & will be removed until paint work is completed. Charging up my AC system this week & dialing in all the rest of the mechanicals. Glad to get over this hump & moving back onto the paint & body next week. Mo's70MCs
I don't see anything ugly either, on the contrary I see that as a work of art. The 18+ years of darkness & silence, left alone & abandoned. That's ugly for sure.. Progress is good!
