The newer model emblem I would think is much flatter than the one that came on the 70. The thing that I have learned over the years when I try thing's like this is I end up spending more money in the long run and end up with extra"in stock" parts.3 points

The emblem will not properly attach to the grille unless it is correct for the year. The mounting posts on back of emblem conflict with bars on grille. Here's the link to the Roman numerals for proper year.2 points

Each year Monte has a unique grill emblem, and with shipping costs what they are these days, I'd spend the extra few bucks and get the correct one. But that's just me.2 points

Not much off season here. But my Vista cruiser is still at the upholstery shop. Just did a fender skirt delete on my 59 cadillac and LS swap is planned for that once wagon is totally done. Already have most of the parts in my possession The 70 Monte I have vintage air waiting on it whenever i want to put it in. Factory air works but hard to beat Vair.. My hot rod Monte has extra set of seats at upholstery shop too doing bolster covers. Same place as my wagon π€¦ββοΈ 59 impala has all factory correct interior waiting on it too in my closet π2 points

The '70-'72 models will interchange, as Montelishi arrived with a '71 emblem. (One of the first things I changed.) I've lost count of how many people actually mention and check to see if I've got the right one....... But I had to come here before anyone noticed the hood spear is a '72. LOL1 point

So, Steve's car has the Chevelle convert piece? That convertible looks amazing ! I was really thinking of doing this to mine, since it was all blown apart for the restore. Someone near here had an Olds Cutlass that was a convertible ,it was the only thing that wasn't rusted. Wanted way too much for it, I bet it is still sitting at his place (20 yrs). I'm tempted to drive by and get a look. I don't think Dan Devine would be up to the task, Florida has made him too relaxed!! I'm getting there.1 point

Yes, small block with hd/ a/c cooling, big block and the standard non-a/c cooling. The first 2 can be identified by the 4 bolt upper radiator plate and the 3rd has a 3 bolt upper radiator plate. All tunnels are the same. The shrouds, that bolt to the upper plate is where the differences are. Just like you noted in your project.1 point

Gauges were an option. Not standard. Open differential, standard. Posi , optional. Etc. The SS package, RPO Z20, gave the SS badging, F41 suspension, LS5 454, th400, dual exhaust with tips, level ride and a few other things standard. Bench seat, column shift, manual windows and locks all standard. Everything else could be "optioned" on.1 point

If you list parts or cars for sale here on the club website and they sell, ease either delete your post or contact one of the club officers to delete it for you. There is no need to have a post that is obsolete here on the boards. rob1 point
