ALERT!!! ALERT!!! ALERT!!! It looks as though someone has hi-jacked to the screen of Dennis T. Everyone here knows if you don't see the toes of a pair of slippers or shoes in a picture it wasn't taken by Dennis. Just kidding it's a legit ad. rob4 points

So Iām weed wacking or trimming yesterday evening after a heavy rain and my wife runs out flagging me down . So I saysā. Are you wanting to weed wack !? Yea!!! . She says, I smell smoke in the house!! š„.. darn I track it down, coming out hvac vents upstairs. Shoot!. I go get a ladder šŖ ugh . Real quick . The upper attic is entered thru a cutout in the upstairs bedroom ceiling. No stairs.. to make a long story shorter. The HVAC evaporator and blower are up there in the heat.. for the upper level. Sure enough, thatās where the smoke smell is coming from . Found blower motor circuit board fried and wiring to it melted. No fuse blown. Geez.. gotta get a new pcb and fix the wiring. Could be the motor going bad too , drawing too much current.. Thankful it only went that far. Life is Grand.šš»But thereās a cruise in at 5 this evening ā¦ To heck with AC ā¦2 points

That sucks. I decided to roll the dice and went with BFGs on the ā71 last year. With the exception of two or three very small spots on the lettering on one tire, the rest have been fineā¦ for now. Time will tellā¦2 points

Not so bad here in Ky on cars over 20 years old. Considered antique. No registration every year, sales tax 6 % of whatever $ amount you and the seller say it sold for. Yearly property taxable value very reasonable on antique cars, for instance some only valued at a few hundred dollars on taxes. Insurance less per 1000 value on antique cars. Cars can be considered a classic at 15 years old for insurance purposes.. needless to say, I wonāt be moving at this age to California or NY. Even tho both states are beautiful, I couldnāt afford to live there on a Ky retirement..2 points

I'm guessing that delivery at Carlisle if people are planning to attend is an option as well? (As long as there's still room to load your car on the trailer, š)1 point

Thanks for the reminder. I did some research and was surprised how many stations near me carried it. $5.40-$5.70/gl. For regular only. Itās about .20/gl more than the ethanol stuff.1 point

Wow, real glad you found it and the damage didn't spread. Scary stuff indeed.1 point

good morning walter, my wife is out at the moment. i think pay pal, check, however you would be comfortable with. please be patient with me as my cancer has me not as mobile as one would want. i am in florida at this time and would want it shipped here, addres is *****. now i would assume this grille is excellent from the pictures and conversations i have seen between you and other members. i am only days into this club as a new member. my grille has dull chrome and has pitting pretty much throughout the little squares. i was going to go through the process of having rechromed but havn't ever done that before. so i'm looking for a grille to just install and be happy with. the picture on my new member site where its first and foremost in the foreground shows my current grille. the rest of the chrome is perfect on my 70 402. so you probably get where im coming from. i get you, your posts very much as i said remind me of my father, he was,nt one you joked with when one is being serious. i am very much the same. not sure if it's because we are marines and he's been gone some 15 years now as are all my side of the family. In many ways I miss him. Just needed to know i'll be happy to install it and never look back with regrets. i'm not that kind of guy either walter. sorry for being longwinded let me know at your convenience. sincerely steve lascody i1 point

That is why so many people plan for and then move out of this state upon retirement. My entire family lives here and weāre a pretty tight knit group, so Iām not going anywhere. Financially I would be better off somewhere else.1 point

This car was ordered without the power steering. This is the second 4 speed that I have had with no power steering.1 point
-
Yes, power steering as well as front disc brakes and an AM radio were standard on these cars. Back in the day, some people saw power steering as an unnecessary luxury and some weren't sold on modern disc brakes. A buyer could delete front disc brakes and get drum brakes, power steering to get a manual gear box and the radio which resulted in a Chevelle radio blank plate covered in burled elm contact paper. This is from a Long Island member's car:1 point

How about no options, This is my 1971 350 4 speed, bench seat never been restored or painted. It pretty stripped down with not much for extras. Paint code is 49 -11 or the D-99 option. Trim is not painted. It has no power steering but I love to drive this one. For some reason it seems to "float" a little less without the power steering option. Just don't get too close on a steep hill.1 point

In 1970 I ordered a Chevelle SS 396 (actually a 402) with the Turbo 400 and 3.31 posi. It was a great car with zero issues.1 point

Incidents like these become more prevalent when consequences no longer act as a deterrent. There needs to be universal truth in sentencing, no time off for āgood behaviorā and disposition needs to be swift, not drawn out over years with multiple continuances. You probably wouldnāt believe how lenient the criminal justice system is here in Chicago, Cook County. Iāve seen people charged with MURDER released on EM. And with the implementation of the āNo Cash Bailā law this year, all but the most serious charges allow arrestees to be released from the station right after being charged and booked. As painful as it is to learn that two more LEOās were killed in the line of duty, some consolation is to be had knowing that the offender was permanently removed from this planet in return. Heāll never have the chance to do anything like this again. Traffic stops and Domestic Disturbances are the two deadliest types of calls/jobs for coppers. Iām not armchair QBing, just merely commentingā¦ but bringing your āAā Game is mandatory as thereās no such thing as a āroutineā traffic stop. Our policies here are so restrictive when it comes to vehicle pursuits, motorists in ācertain neighborhoodsā have taken to just refusing to pull over as they know the likelihood of being chased is slim to none as supervisors routinely terminate pursuits for everything. So I guess this in ONE way to minimize exposure to a stop going sideways. RIP Officer Micheal Jensen and Lieutenant Michael Hoosock. EOW: 14 Apr 24.1 point

I can feel your pain Dennis, i don't think anyone can tease you about having an extra burner for parts! Its when you have 10-15 burners we start to get a little concerned....... Good thing Glenn is working, he would of taken this in a complete different direction!!!!1 point

Dennis i think that 2x4 that clocked you learned its lesson as it saved your firewall in that Monte! You should be happy!! Put a rope on it attach the other side to your tractor and pull it down!! Then cut it up and put it in your fireplace!! Problem solved!! lol1 point
