Canuck
I dabbled in modelling when I was a teenager but haven’t done it since. I really missed it and wondered if I could do it again. For the first time in 30 years I picked up some of my Nascar model kits and started building them. There’s 6 Harry Gant race cars in all I plan to build. Yesterday I finished the first one.

Dtret
I’m glad I didn’t eat today. Isn’t that one of the things that a good moderator would censor? I’ve seen a lot less offensive things whacked from the board. Lol. Jk.
bigtankjones
Very cool Aaron. I've been working on a few myself. I'm currently working on a Trumpeter 1/32 F4U Corsair and a 1/18 79 trans Am. The Charger and the finished Corsair i did last year.
Dtret
An extreme amount of time and patience is needed to do this. Well done guys. Very nice work. I used to to that years ago, but I don’t think I could do it now. No patience.
Canuck
I find I have more patience for this now than when I was a teen. I did forget about the large number of hours involved though.
Leghome
I have a couple of unfinished models that I will probably never get done. Uncle Aurther is getting to my fingers and cannot pick them small parts. One is a 1035 Cord Convertible and the other a 1937 a Auburn Speedster that I purchased many years ago at the Auburn/Cord Museum in Auburn Indiana. Canuck
My first try at a two-tone paint scheme. This is Harry Gant’s 1991 Olds. I can’t wait to decal this up.
Bad Wolf racing
I've done a few recently and have a few more to build. I too did it as a kid, did it with my son as he grew up, and now I'm back doing some again
Canuck
I finished the Skoal Bandit 1991 Olds and 1994 Lumina. Next up is the Skoal Bandit 1985 Monte then I think I’ll be done until the fall.

72 Monte Carlo
I have quite a few models in my collection, cars, 4x4 pickups and Blazers, Baa Baa Black Sheep Corsair and Japanese Zero planes, and semi trucks and trailers. I haven't sat down to work on anything for a couple months as life gets in the way with other projects. I do intend to build this one in the same color that I'm painting my Monte Carlo. I have a cowl induction hood for it to match the hood I bought for my car.

Canuck
I finally got the kits and decals needed to build/finish 5 more Harry Gant cars. I found out Harry drove a first gen Monte in the sportsman series so I’ll be building one of those. My first car was a 1976 Cutlass S and Harry drove that body style (76/77 Cutlass S) in his NASCAR Cup rookie year so I decided to build that car too.
Canuck
Completed a project last night. Harry Gant’s 1985 Monte Carlo. Monogram kit with Powerslide decals. The original kit decals did not work out well so I had to remove them. The paint got a little beat up in the process but still looks OK. This was only my third car build that is 2-tone paint. It turned out pretty decent. I photocopied the decals, cut them out and taped them to the body to help determine where to mask it off.

Canuck
Next up, Harry’s Monte Carlo he raced in the sportsman series. I was able to get my hands on the Monte stock car kit thanks to Jason Molden in the club. 🙂
